the 76ers never ever do that.

Hornets do?

Ball.

That team would be really good obviously, but Paul, Iggy and Hedo are all players who need the ball to be effective. Remember last year before Jameer's injury there were strechtes where Hedo was really bad, because Stan started to call less and less plays for him, which is basically what happend this year in Toronto (among other things).
Same thing with Igoudala. He's not a player you want to be ball-dominant, but that's the way he's most effective. His jumper isn't reliable and while he's definitely good at other things (transition, cutting, defense), that's not something you want to pay $15mil/year for, is it?

Also both trades are unrealistic, but that's obvious, obviously.

You magic fans would be foaming at the mouth if this would happen, right?
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=2ervgc6
Magic trade:
Vince Carter
Jameer Nelson
Brandon Bass
Mickael Pietrus
Marcin Gortat
2nd round pick in 2011
Cash considerations
Magic get:
Al Jefferson
Chris Paul
Hedo Turkoglu
Wayne Ellington
James Posey
Hornets trade:
Chris Paul
Emeka Okafor
James Posey
Julian Wright
2nd round pick in 2011
Hornets get:
Andrea Bargnani
Jameer Nelson
Demar Derozan
Reggie Evans
Raptors trade:
Hedo Turkoglu
Marcus Banks
Andrea Bargnani
Demar Derozan
Raptors get:
Vince Carter
Emeka Okafor
Marcin Gortat
ORL 2nd round pick
Cash Considerations
Timberwolves trade:
Al Jefferson
Wayne Ellington
Timberwolves get:
Brandon Bass
Julian Wright
Marcus Banks
Mickael Pietrus
NO 2nd round pick
The most variable element in this trade might be Gortat. But your guys' Magic would be awesome would they not?
(Of course in the real world, unless Bryan Colangelo and David Kahn could be tricked and Jeff Bower were to be tricked, this trade would never happened. But I don't doubt that David Kahn and Colangelo could be tricked, then Hornets' owner wants savings too. :D )

I think it should be stickied through tomorrow night.

If at that point there are no legit discussions, take it down and lock it.

I still don't think that cp3 will take us over the hump. Lakers will look scarier, so is lebron's team, and the heat with prolly bosh.

Really Kunta?

You don't think a combo of CP3+Dwight Howard is better than a combo LeBron could make or Wade?

I definitely there that there could end up being a more talented pair if you are talking strictly skill for each individual player...but come on, you are talking about the best players at the two most important positions in the game. Did you see how good CP3 made Tyson Chandler look? Imagine a PG with real court vision throwing lobs to Dwight. Jameer gets the job done, but no one here can tell me that he actually has good court vision.

Not to mention, our supporting cast is twice the supporting cast that any other team has that will be going after the big FA's.

depends really on how much we'd have to give up to acquire cp3. but can you imagine how good this team would be the leaders in 3 statistical categories? blocks, rebounds, assists? not to mention all the intangibles that both those guys would bring. i do believe that if we were ever able to pair those two, it would be the best pg-c combo - probably ever.

I'm with you LBP, as I said before the two best pairings of players, is CP3 and Dwight or Wade and Dwight.

+1

Adding cp3 to the team will not only give us an improvement at the defensive end, but at the offensive end as well. CP3 will easily have Dwight's ppg go up, but for his teammates as well. IMO, CP3 running the point with Dwight will make our team almost impeccable in pnr situations. Arguably better than the AMare-Nash combo, IMO.

i dunno, my expectations are that high that if those two teamed up, they could even eclipse that pairing. of course, i may be jaded as i was never a fan of those two (was rooting for the celtics at the time and kareem was well on the decline by then) both cp3 and d12 would be peaking together and the sky would be the limit in my opinion...

We won't let this die. If we do, we just as well admit that we can't get CP3. LOL
