SEBAS-07 wrote:This is just a crazy trade idea but, it depends solely on two premises.

Orlando/ New York Knicks

Orlando Trades: Jammer Nelson,Jason Richardson,Glen Davis, Chris Duhon and Quentin Richardson.

Orlando Receives: Amare Stoudemire, Baron Davis, Iman Shumpert, Toney Douglas and Landry Fields.

The trade would need to happen AFTER March 1

Edit: Orlando Lineup

Baron Davis/Toney Douglas
JJ Redick/Iman Shumpert/Von wafer
Hedo/Landry Fields/Harper
Amare/Anderson/Earl Clark
Dwight/Dampier???/Orton

Why would Knicks do that trade again? Any of those players have more values than our players.

Amare has a hefty contract, his salary could be divided in more pieces. The Knicks lineup would be

Nelson/Chris Duhon/Mike Bibby/Jeremy Lin
Jason Richardson/Quentin Richardson
Carmelo/Bill Walker/Reanaldo Balkman
Glen Davis/Josh Harrelson/Steve Novak
Tyson Chandler/Jeffries/Jerome Jordan
Smart / Micic / D. Wright
Wiggins / Exum / J. Adams
Parker / K. Anderson / Mcdermott
Randle / Vonleh / Stokes
Embiid / Nurkic/ Tavares

what would the warriors offer? ellis based package? have to be a third team involved to help get deal done i would think...otherwise something like draft pick, ellis/curry, udoh, klay , and brown... it would most likely be a high draft pick and brown is a expiring .... not much better than whats been offered but it is in western conf. and its not the lakers so those are positives.... only thing if dwight makes it clear hes not coming back

Exactly... this franchise has had enough foot/ankle injuries to deal with as it is (Grant Hill)

Get a 3rd team involved where we get a respectable big and throw in Ellis and some good picks, and maybe we can talk... as of right now, Dwight seems to be happy with how we're winning and playing... and we're on a roll chemistry-wise... don't break it... stick with it and see what happens by the end of February or March

As the Orlando Magic consider deals for Dwight Howard, the Golden State Warriors have emerged as aggressive suitors for the NBA’s best center, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Golden State management is willing to take Howard as a one-season “rental,” with the hope of selling him on signing a long-term deal before he enters free agency this summer. Like most teams, Golden State has inquired with Orlando Magic general manager Otis Smith, but the Magic have yet to commit to aggressively pursuing a trade of Howard.

For the Magic to become intrigued with package, two things would likely have to appeal to them: rebuilding around young point guard Stephen Curry; and the Warriors’ salary-cap space to absorb the three years and $34 million left on Hedo Turkoglu’s contract. The possibility of the pursuit could be complicated by questions about the sturdiness of Curry’s surgically repaired right ankle. The Warriors are willing to part with either of their two guards – Curry or Monta Ellis – but teams clearly will watch how Curry recovers from his recurring ankle sprains.

I'm guessing "League Sources" means "Larry Riley."

Why would we trade the best center in the league for a point guard coming off significant surgery? Even if you throw out the idea that you try not to trade a big for a small, of all the packages I've seen, that's the worst basis for a trade yet. I'd rather get Bynum.

I'd rather have Bynum than Curry, to be honest.

X10 and I'd hate to gift La with another dominate center. But I have a simple question that maybe somebody can help me with. Why are we only getting offered damaged goods for the second best player in the league!?!?

I would do Dwight/Turk/meer for monta/curry/beidrens but idk why golden state would do that it would be hard to get Dwight to stay

One more note on the Howard situation. With the future of the franchise teetering on Howard's decision, multiple people plugged into league front-office dealings say it's no sure thing that Smith, the GM, will be the one making the final decision on whether to trade Howard and where. With the resignation of Bob Vander Weide and promotion of Alex Martins to CEO, rival executives believe Martins is the one calling the shots. And among those shots could be adding to the Orlando front office, which is thin by NBA standards behind Smith. The most experienced and capable candidate on the market is former Hornets GM Jeff Bower, who has solid relationships with the Magic front office staff. Bower also worked with Martins in New Orleans. Tony Ronzone, the former assistant GM in Detroit and Minnesota, also is a free agent and sources say he'd be amenable to joining a revamped Magic front office with Bower in the lead role. Thus far, Martins has not reached out to any potential candidates as he settles into his new role, but sources believe the direction of the team -- and Howard's fickle approach when it comes to staying or leaving -- could prime the pump for sweeping changes.

Hearing that Knicks might offer Amare for Howard.....Who here would take that deal? me personally just Amare for Dwight is not equal value if offered straight up...might need another team and picks with that

Every trade the media proposes for Howard is in their minds equal value because to them Howard is gone, so he has hardly any actual value to Orlando.

I can't believe we might get less in a trade for Dwight than Utah and Denver got for their lesser stars... SMH
