Zmill wrote:Pretty solid deal. Assuming you are a rockets fan, who would you want to take back for this package?

If Dwight HAS to go, I definitely wouldn't mind this package if we are able to free up cap room. Definitely a rebuild-on-the-fly type of package.

Rockets perspective is that: yes, they will take him without an extension, however obviously the ultimate goal is to get him to stay long term.

The route to do that is make the trade and still have money to offer Deron the max in free agency, which means we would be hesistant to take back bad money.

So Houston would be interesting in offering alot, however, trying to accomplish the following:
1.) Not take back Hedo, preventing us from having cap room to pursue Deron.
2.) Not trade C.Lee. Those two are friends and we likely view him as piece that would help entice Dwight to stay.
3.) Regarding Martin, I like his game alot, specifically alongside Howard, but swapping his expiring for Jrich, might be possible if that is added value, assuming the numbers work.
4.) Rockets would need to be able to field a team that could compete even if for only one year.
5.) Rockets would be taking a huge risk, so future picks would need to be retained or protected if Dwight were to leave and we go into the cellar.

The above deal offers that. It gives Orlando a lot of youngsters, while allowing Houston to accomplish all of the above.

Martins is traveling to the interviews and is expected to meet with candidates involved in West finals during series. Spurs exec Dennis Lindsey and Thunder execs Troy Weaver and Rob Hennigan also are candidates.

I could completely understand him traveling to OKC to meet Lindsey and Weaver because their teams are still playing in the season. But there is no reason why Bower couldn't come to Orlando...

I wouldn't look too much into it. Martins has big ties to that area and there are many reasons why he would want to go there (family/friends maybe?). I do think Bowers is going to have an edge though because of those ties if I were to guess.

I'm not sure how the value works out there, but the Raptors say they want proven talent, and since they're never going to make the playoffs, Ryan seems like the perfect fit there. Toronto does have the space to absorb him. We might be able to use the 8th to grab Lillard.

Let's see How do I put this........HELL YES. If a team picking 8-10 offers that pick for Ryan freaking Anderson I hope to GOD they take that deal.

Hell yes indeed.
HELL YES, INDEED.
Have been following Dame and though there is a lot of hype around it, it seems justified. I would love to have this guy in a Magic uniform.

Are people forgetting that we can't s&t players until free agency? Did the CBA changes or something that I'm not aware yet? We should've traded him for a lotto pick before the deadline.

This is very confusing to me. According to the CBA we can negotiate a completely new contract with Ryan now and it can be a sign and trade. Or we can negotiate a new contract now and not trade him. It's more than likely not going to happen unless the new GM comes in and says we need Ryan, let's give him 10 a year for 4 years right now.[/quote]

That'll be a big mistake. No one is going to trade for Ryno if he's on a 4 yr 40 mil contract.

Is there anyway to pull off a thirty team NBA trade? I feel like this should happen.

What is this "big" thing I keep seeing mentioned without any links... I hear it's from OS, but where's the post?
