Damn still nothing? Rob is really looking for a good trade huh? Well does that mean Dwight's value is or has gone down? I think so. Well, we should keep him, and bench him this year.

He's the best center in the league... his value doesn't go down.

Not if he doesnt sign an extension, yes his value in what we can get for him does in fact goes down. Teams are adding other peices now and not wanting Dwight. Time is not on our side with this tug of war with Dwight.

Jarrod N Rudolph ‏@JRudolphSports
Harsh reality for Magic fans: The two teams dominating the trade rumors have made upgrades to improve their teams. What has Orlando done?
Jarrod N Rudolph ‏@JRudolphSports
That's the problem in Orlando, it's been the problem for years. They're making no moves or the wrong moves. That's not on the players.
Jarrod N Rudolph ‏@JRudolphSports
How can anyone honestly say the Magic can offer Dwight a better chance to win than Brooklyn or the Lakers?
Jarrod N Rudolph ‏@JRudolphSports
So how can anyone be upset at Dwight, or any player, that asks to be moved to a better situation? You're not mad at GMs that trade players.

Roll the dice. If we don't gain enough in trades it doesn't hurt us if he walks in free agency. We can use the cap room start our rebuild. I would be happier to watch him walk than to take a bad trade just because someone said you can't let him walk for nothing. Chances are he will still want a trade next season in free agency to get his money if he won't stay in Orlando. Time is on our side.

Rudolph is a moron... What is Rob supposed to do when Dwight tells him in their first meeting, I won't stay here the relationship between me and the Magic is unrepairable, I want to be traded.

Hey here is an idea lets make improvements just so Dwight can tell me again the relationship between me and the Magic is unrepairable.

Yeah great idea Rudolph...

yep it's a business. Now honor the contract you signed and go where you want in free agency. Just because you don't like the situation your in doesn't mean you can dictate where you go.

Time is absolutely on our side. The longer we wait to make a deal, the more desperate Dwight gets. And the more desperate he is, the more willing he is to go to a non-Nets team.

Also, my hope is that the more time that passes, the better the offers start to look. I'd rather wait months for the right deal than take the first offer that comes along.

And let's say we wind up letting him walk. Clearing cap room is not a bad consolation prize.

I agree with all of that. And I tend to defend Dwight on here. But with all that being true, I just expected Dwight to be more. It's not like the Magic aren't dedicated to contending. Coming off the Finals run, RDV gave Otis a blank check to spend as much as he felt he could to get the best team. We've perennially been one of the teams with the highest payroll for the past 4 years or so. Yes, we've made bad moves. But the one who made the moves is gone. If Dwight demands out, he's nothing but a championship chaser. And there's nothing wrong with that really. Who are we to tell one of the best basketball players on the planet what to do with his career and his life? I just expected him to be more.

Sounds like Jarrod has decided to take Dwight's side of things now. Hard to argue that in the past moves have not worked out, but it's rather shortsighted to say the team hasn't made moves in the past to try and improve. Signing 'Shard, regardless of it being a bad contract, was a key to us making the finals. Was Otis stupid for trading for Vince, and then more stupid to trade for JRich and Hedo? Sure. But it wasn't for lack of effort to improve.

These tweets sort of piss me off. Looking at one offseason as the justificiation for a year of whining from Dwight...just unrealistic. Not to mention, we're not done. Rob is just getting warmed up.

It also shows how little he understands what this off-season is supposed to be about. Even excluding all this Dwight stuff, nobody was expecting us to try to make major moves that threw us into championship contention again. Everybody knew that it was going to be the start of a rebuild.

Some of moves Otis has done have sucked but if going to the finals and back to back ECF's isn't showing you the Magic ORG doesn't want to win, I don't know what is.

Also, it leaves out the success we've had for the past seven years. It's not like we've been mired in the basement like...oh, I don't know, the Nets?

And the Lakers don't have their own pressures? They'll act like they don't. They'll try to make it seem like they have time to wait us out. But come the start of the regular season, who would they feel better with going forward? A player who's had one healthy meaningful season in 7 years of his career? Or a player who's not only better, but has been one of the most durable players over the span of his career? Yes, Dwight's back is an issue. But my concerns over his back dwarf in comparison to Bynum's knees.

The Lakers need this trade more than the Magic. If the trade doesn't go down, they're going to be tied to Bynum for bad or for worse. And that's a huge risk. Eventually they're going to have to extend his contract if they don't trade for Dwight.

Come the regular season, if Bynum has a significant injury to his knee, the deal is off. History speaks to how likely that is.

Lost all respect I had for Rudolph. It's obvious he is being used by the Dwight people now. He is just trying to stay relevant. He is trying to ride Dwights coat tails. Can't sat I blame him.

his value has gone down somewhat everytime he opens his mouth. Blackmail, only brooklyn, no extension. This doesnt bring more teams to the negotiating table
