we wouldnt get rid of bad contracts but i don't see why we should in the first place if our plan is to get a good pick. and our contracts are really not that bad.

Rockets got a lot of expiring contracts in this deal with NYK.

Yes they would probably be able to absorb JRich and/or Duhon.

well they bailed us out with the Alston trade that helped us get to the finals, so maybe this is just coming back around for them.

What about flipping Lopez to Houston if we do the Brooklyn deal. I prefer we deal to Houston so Dwight doesn't get to where he wants to go but maybe we can get the picks from Brooklyn and then get players and picks from Houston as well. We could end up with a couple young players and 6 or more picks and not have to worry about bad contracts. Great for rebuilding through the draft. We can even combine draft picks to move up in the draft.

When I say bad contracts I only mean JRich and Baby. Duhon and Hedo can be cut next year.

If we can get rid of JRich, Baby, Dwight and get White, Jones, Montijunas, Lamb, picks, KMart we have to take that. Give us a lot of options moving forward

D12 + Jrich for Donatas + KMart + Lamb + Parsons + Shaun Livingston (partial guaranteed)

Maybe we could add Q and get an expiring that came from NY. Picks included?

They will not want Brook with the kind of money he will be making ( as nobody should). If they miss out on Dwight they can still make a run at a guy like Bynum.

Davis might not have the best contract, but he's awesome, I dont want to trade him if it means getting less back from a team

Was it about the "Edition" looking like "Edit"? ... Yeah it shows up like "Edit"...

Copy/Paste this into the Title of this thread again, and hit submit:

Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XXXV "Is it over yet?" Edition)

Sometimes it takes a couple tries. It used to do that to me for some. And hey if it doesn't work, just leave it as "Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XXXV)" ... no biggie. :)

I know this has been said but there is NO way Henny trades for Lopez if his deal is over 10m a year. The guy is a horrendous defender, soft as cotton and coming off a lingering foot injury (see Yao Ming).

The Nets give us Lopez (half a scrub), Scrubs and 2 or 3 LATE first rounders? Yes they may take 2 or 3 bad contracts off of us but I know there are 2 or 3 teams out there that could offer better without the complexity of this pending trade.

Lopez with Ibaka would be the only combo that would barely make sense but there aren't many 4's out there that help on D like he does so if this trade happens even though its with the future in mind I would be sick just thinking about the years we would be stuck with Lopez holding down the fort if you can call it that.

Finally, I'm seeing some suggestions that I can get down with! Totally on board with this concept. And Houston really isn't giving up much, so it's worth the risk to rent him. I'd be all for this if I were a Houston fan as well.

Why does everyone want to get rid of BBD?
He might of been our best player last year, is on a reasonable contract and actually wants to be in orlando, not to mention hes our only leader.

Hes the LAST player id try to trade

Just wanted to add that if that Houston trade is even remotely possible we should be jumping all over that. I can't see any GM thinking the Nets trade is better than what Houston can offer.

While I agree with your evaluation of Davis, if it helps get a deal done with Houston...I'm all for it. As much as Davis as grown on me, I'll be damned if I'd let that hold up the deal with Houston.

Parsons is going to be a star IMO. We really need to get him. Not to mention we need to mention our aging HOF SF. TURKKK

That's true. But its hardly a precedent. See the Knicks steaming pile of trash that got them Melo. LA- Gasol. And on and on and on.

Tired of people who do not know their NBA history and have no clue what is reasonable to expect. Orlando's offers keep getting worse because they let the clock run out and their situation has played out publicly in as ugly a fashion as you can have. They did this to themselves.

Another idiotic post on the nets board...

Thank Otis for getting us 2 assets!

BTW We slaughtered Boston in the Bass-BBD trade. Otis did us right that time.
