wiggins is wishful thinking....got no shot at getting him....kinda wished that the NBA gave players the choice to go to the NBA from High school.....if they want to declare from High school let them....if not then they have go to college for a year or play overseas....or just train for a year....either way it's a funky system....

I wouldn't say wishful thinking, hell we may be better this upcoming year than the following year.
Somebody could be calling for Meer, JJ or BBD come the all star break or next off season. They are pretty much a lock to be on the club this year except for a little uncertainty towards JJ.
If Henny wants Wiggins he has the opportunity to put us in a VERY GOOD situation to do so with the way this roster currently stands.

Re: Official Draft Thread: Prospects Watch
The eligibility of star recruit Shabazz Muhammad might not be the only issue that UCLA's basketball program has to deal with.
The NCAA also is investigating potential recruiting violations involving fellow freshmen Kyle Anderson and Tony Parker, according to Scout.com's UCLA web site. The results could impact their eligibility as well.
UCLA's recruiting class was ranked second in the nation and the Bruins were expected to be highly ranked in preseason polls.
Anderson, a 6-8 forward from Jersey City, N.J., was ranked as the fourth-best prospect in the Class of 2012 by Sco(u)t.com. Parker, a 6-8 center from Lithonia, Ga., was ranked No. 20.
According to the report, it is unclear whether the potential violations involving Anderson and Parker are related to the ongoing investigation into Muhammad, the 6-5 guard from Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas ranked as the No. 2 recruit in the country. According to the report, another program "turned in evidence of violation in the recruitments of Muhammad, Anderson and Parker." The specifics were unknown.
Muhammad had been ruled ineligible to participate in UCLA's tour of China in late August because the NCAA had not yet completed its investigation. At issue is Muhammad's amateurism because of his ties to two financial advisors. Muhammad has said he expects to be cleared.
Anderson had two double-doubles during the three games in China. Parker did not participate because of an injury, but was eligible and on the trip.

2. Lorenzo Brown 6-4 190 PG NC State Jr.
Brown has the size of a 2 with the handle and court vision of a point guard. Consistently operating with his head up and swiveling, Brown has the ball-handling skills to navigate through a defense, attack the rim himself or set up a teammate.
He finished 2nd in the ACC in assists last year behind Kendall Marshall, and with four returning starters from last year’s Sweet 16 team, chemistry and comfort will help aid his progression. With NC State a potential favorite in the ACC, Brown could get late lotto looks based on his ability to run a team.
He is gonna have a big time season. He has so many weapons around him, I wouldnt be surprised if he averaged close to 10 assists a game.

He has quite a bit of upside & it will be interesting to see how he performs at Pitt.
If we are looking at big men early next season my favorite as of now is Gobert. His upside is extremely high, & even if his offense doesnt come along like some expect his defense/length is going to give ANY center in the NBA fits.

I really hope the NCAA allows Purvis to suit up soon. He is a guy who can put the WolfPack over the top. He is def a future lottery pick.

looks like a decent prospect but he's very reckless with his handle. All of that dribbling works in pickup games but not in college and most definitely not in the NBA.

Soft and barely gets off the floor. Reminds me of a slightly more athletic version of Brook Lopez.

Right now there is no ace prospect and Orlando should be able to draft one of the better PGs with the late-lottery pick the Magic will likely end up with when Harrington and Redick are traded.
(as an aside: Harrington was born in the 80s and is considered old. Boo!!!!)

Re: Official Draft Thread: Prospects Watch
Welp I suppose our needs will be dependent on how our roster develops this year.
If Vucevic can perform to his per36 numbers, the need for a big goes down but I would still be eye-balling Nerlens Noel, depending on his impact at Kentucky.
Two of my favorite prospects in this draft are Shabazz and James McAdoo, McAdoo seems a little underrated to me, he is a great athlete. Shabazz kind of reminds me of Dwade a lil bit at this time he'd be my clear cut top choice for the Magic.
I also think it's highly probably we will acquire atleast 1 more first round pick this year, maybe more so I would like for us to keep eyes on mid round talent, particularly as mentioned, PG.
the key here is to be bad for 2 years, but show development in the process. 2014 summer is our time IMO, imagine adding Shabazz and Wiggins or Parker, then having caproom for 2 max free agents and hopefully the development of Harkless, Nicholson, and Vucevic amongst others

aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.
