What else do you expect right now from this team? We have young players, an ever-changing roster of vets, and no "superstar".

Stick it out this year with JV, get our younger guys more seasoning with the same coaching staff (consistency in that department is very important) and evaluate at the end of the year.

No need to let JV go that quickly with where we're at as a team. Is he a long-term solution? No. But in the short term he'll provide the stability we need to get our young guys developed. That seems most important right now. We'll take the next step when the team is ready.

Ive been very unimpressed with him since early on in Orlando, and just dont think he should be the coach.

Really you have to think about it this way, how much is his coaching damaging our youth movement? I actually think it could be quite a lot.

For me, I really just can't deal with antother 55-60 game losing season. Keeping Vaughn really reflects a 3rd consecutive massive losing season as one of the worst teams int he league.

Well this season will be the last 50+ loss season, Vaughn will be replaced at the end of the season, a year of NBA experience under the belts of the 3 rookies, a year of chemistry together for this team, bring on the playoffs baby!(next season and beyond ) :P

Why wait but? What is it going to do.. Get the new coach in and let him and the players gel for the season and use this season as a stepping stone. Some players have already commited that's a start. We should be in operation find a coach with NBA experience that can take us to a title.

The rookies will develop better under an experienced coach IMO.

Please someone tell me if there has ever been a coach that has had a team as young as us while winning more then 30-35 games.

Well the rate we're going at mate we will be lucky to win 20 games and that's not acceptable... had this been 2 seasons ago I would say heck it will work let's wait but we have waited long enough now to atleast see some development and improvements on winning games.

We're now 0-4 (Admittingly without Dipo doesn't help) but I would have thought with the nucleus of Vuc and Tobias to work around we would still be able to play games out and snag a win.

What about Jeff Van Gundy as a candidate, if JV is canned after the season?? Would Jeff coach for a team that fired his brother??

what coach does everyone want? who is the right coach then, if JV isn't?

JV and this team will find momentum during this season. just have patience and enjoy the fact that at least these games we're losing are competitive. we're in them, which means we could win them if we could get a few more things working for us.

Most don't believe he is. I am one, but I think he gets this entire season to see how we look going forward. I highly doubt he gets fired during the season, but I do believe he won't be the coach next season.

Who does everyone want?

Possible candidates with NBA coaching experience,

George Karl
Scott Skiles
Nate McMillian
Alvin Gentry
Mo Cheeks
Jeff Van Gundy

Possible college coach candidates(I know college coaches generally haven't done well when making leap to NBA or NFL),

Are any of Donovan, Izzo, Calipari ready to make the leap to the NBA??

Other college coaches who have garnered NBA attention,

Kevin Ollie
Bill Self
Fred Hoiberg
Thad Matta
Jay Wright
Jamie Dixon

I don't understand why we signed Frye if our coach knew that he couldn't/wouldn't use him properly

Jv is clueless

I just threw up in my mouth when I saw Calipari's name on your list of possible coaching choices! Please NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

If my calculations are correct, the average age of last seasons Thunder and Rockets teams are younger/the same as this Magic team and both of those teams won 54+ games in the West

edit: just looked it up and about 4 teams in the last 5 years won 50+ games with an average age of under >25

So far he has been proving me right, he's not getting the best out of the team. In my eyes, he will not lead this team anywhere but the bottom of the standings. I'm STILL hoping he proves me wrong tho...

Im pretty close but I'm going to wait as well. We're not at full strength and our guys are still becoming accustomed to each other.
I also feel like there has been a big shift in Vucevic's role. We're running our offense alot through him so now you have to take that change into account.

These are my exact feelings. We had a pretty big roster turnover and chemistry takes time to develop. Hopefully once we get our first win we can start to build on that.

When the Pistons started their string of 50 game win seasons, most of the team was 25 or younger. That was a young Billups, Rip, Prince and Ben Wallace amongst plenty of young bench players passing thru. No superstars.
