He had surgery. It's invasive and takes time to heal, so that it doesn't become a recurring problem.

What feels fine right now for him might not necessarily be the case 5 years from now when his body is older and wasn't properly healed to begin with.

No reason to risk it. FO is taking the right approach.

i would understand that but how is that Kevin Durant had the same problem but his injury was worse than Gordon's but he came back unlimited and he's a bonafide superstar.
