I always dreamt about having 2 MCWs on my team XD

Which is why I didn't want them going with the Denver offer but it is what it is. Let's just hope he's that 1 out of many that actually develops a consistent jumper. Many try and many fail but he does have the elite athleticism part.

That seems like a pretty terrible comp. He was a PG in high school, but is more of a secondary ball handler in the league.

If the shooting comes around he's a 6'5 guard that can get his own shot and score at all levels, while also being a decent creator for others.
He seems serious about becoming a good shooter, so we will see. He is said to model his game off Lavine. That outcome probably ain't happening. But maybe he becomes like a Levert or some other scoring guard.

He's a long term project. If the G League was still going it would probably make sense to send him there just to play a lot of minutes.

cuz if so.. and depending how weak the east is next season, I could see us fighting for a playin spot with Fultz JI and Tross plus Cade (lol) I can dream

Still had Jameer, JJ, Turk, Glen Davis

this is an interesting discussion I was thinking of earlier today but I think we:
1) are in a better position now than after trading Dwight (roster-wise)
2) got a better return for Vuc than what we got for Dwight (debateable)

I mean come on he is 19 and hasn’t really gotten NBA minutes because he was on a team loaded with guards. Let’s see how he plays and see how it goes. I trust Denver’s front office probably the best in The league in drafting late. That carries more weight then the some writer who pulls a comp out of his ass.

No doubt. But... one thing we don't have is Denver's development team, their coaches. We don't know how much better they are at that vs just drafting. Extremely difficult to quantify, sure, but that is part of the equation.

Look, I don't really know what the other offers were so I can't be mad at this deal. I have been wrong on young guys without a shot (Fox comes to the top of my mind). Like I said, the athleticism is elite so there is potential for him to be special if that jumper ever develops... and he has time and I like his mentality.

Yeah, I don't like the comp. He has Westbrook-lite athleticism. I don't like the Lavine comp. Lavine is the prototypical MJ/Kobe athlete (which is why I like Jalen Green). RJ isn't as fluid.

When you're doing trades for a rebuild you want back picks and young players and we have some of both now. The players are pretty much inconsequential to me the picks is what I care more about. But at least there's something different happening and we're off the treadmill we've been on for the past few years.

What’s the over-under for Bamba’s performance the rest of the season now that he likely takes a larger role?

I’ll start the guesses off at 37 pts, 22 reb, 17 blk per game.

I dont think his role increases unless WCjr gets cliff to play him at PF

And if that happens and Mo gets more PT, im a little less optimistic, i mean he doesnt have a strong offensive game, so ill say 20ppg, 15 rebounds and only like 10 bpg...but maybe like 5 steals per game

Sadly, I'm not convinced that Bamba is going to be taking on a significantly larger role.

The way Weltman praised WCJ this morning certainly made me believe he's the guy they view as the starting center they are going to move forward with.

In fact, given that WCJ is actually a year younger than Bamba, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Magic opt to cut bait with Mo after this season.

That's 8. I think you only need 8 suited up to play. If it's 9, we can have either Ross or Anthony dressed to play without playing them if needed.

I’ll guess i’ll tune in tonight for bamba haha

I'm tuning in for sure. We're going to see a drastically different team tonight. I'll be keeping a close eye on Okeke and Bamba tonight. I'm hoping Bamba starts, but you know Cliff, he'll probably end up starting Birch. But I can't wait to see the new look team. Because we now have no one to throw the ball to to save us anymore.

I couldn’t careless if he starts or not. He’s going to get minutes.

Bamba is going to play tonight, probably a lot, because the Magic only have 8 bodies and he's one of them.

But once WCJ is ready to go, I can definitely see Bamba shuffled back into a low minute reserve role.

Bamba has never played more than 26 minutes in an NBA game. If he doesn't break that threshold tonight with this rotation it might be fair to say that he never will.

The already opted in on Bamba, I think it's unlikely they cut ties with him. Weltman was praising the guys he traded for, that's all. I'm all for letting them play equal minutes this year and next, then decide.

The Bulls fans are just as critical about WCJ, as we are with Bamba. The reason he's got more minutes is they really had no one else.

Bamba was listed with a tore toe last game, not sure how much he can actually play.

To me from the interview he started off safe and cagey as all execs do, the middle section he really opened up a bit. He stated it wasn't a championship calibre team, he stated the team was tapped out and had no flexibility and even if they wanted to run it back they couldn't, and now they have proper flexibility for the first time.

Now everything that's said ALWAYS has exec spiel filtering, but that was fairly transparent. Seems to me like while they had a playoff calibre squad the goal was run it till the wheels fall off and hope for luck in the playoffs (which you can understand, if not agree with). Seems like injuries expedited that, much to my relief.

While he was in NZ he battled a nagging injury (think it was his hip or something) and played a lot off the bench, while Ball was given the keys. Alot of Breakers fans wanted us to do the same with him but they stuck with the veteran PG starting, which was frustrating. When he played and in the games he got some rhythm, he looked good, was hesitant to take his shot but as he's shown this year, there's a workable shot there, just needs to get better.
