That Brown dunk was whack. Should be Mac vs Toppin.

It's Osceola Magic but The Magic win another Dunk Championship and Shaq helped. It's nice to see. Congrats Mac McClung!

He can dunk, but he can also hoop. I hope he gets a shot with our team

If nothing else Mac isn’t afraid of big moments. That alone should have some value.

Allstar Saturday was actually embarrassing to watch, and an absolute slap in the face to the NBA fans from all over the world who paid money and gave up their time to watch that garbage.

If these self-entitled children (thats what the are) are not capable of giving 30 seconds of their time to engage with their fans properly, then dont fking come to allstar weekend. We have Scottie Barnes looking like Charles Barkley in the skills challenge, Maxey and Paolo cant even figure out the right way to run and Edwards feels its ok to shoot left handed bricks. The NBA has a massive identity problem right now, and this needs to be fixed.

Im genuinely not sure if this is something which culturally isnt seen as a big issue in the USA, like maybe not trying and being super relaxed is accepted for some reason. I can say that in Australia, our sporting figures are seen as hard working leaders, and they actually care about their fans. I can say as an international fan that things like today are very damaging to the NBA brand. The world tunes in to watch this every year and this absolute horse$hit is what the fans are served up. Sort it out or the fans will rightly leave.

An embarrassing day.

That was a bad Saturday night....

Idk what the point of the skills challenge is. There's no skill in it at all. They really need to find a way to replace that game with something better.

The 3pt shootout was best part, but should Kat even be in finals? He was shooting 2s. I liked the Steph vs Sabrina. But I could see them trying to male it a thing again next year and failing.

The judging in the dunk contest was horrendous. Glad Mac got the win, he did have the best dunk of the night. I thought Jaylen Brown had the worst dunks of the night. That lame Dee Brown impression was horrible, it should've been the Toppin brother in the finale. He probably could've won the thing if he had good dunks in the bag.

I dont know NBA needs to revamp allstar weekend, and I don't trust them to figure it out. The rising star competition is a mess too.

I have been saying for a couple of months that I thought that Mac deserved a shot on the Magic. He has a pretty good jumper, he is a pretty good passer.

He can clearly dunk, but oddly enough, in the games that I watched, I was not impressed with his first step. Not sure how well he is going to attack the paint, but I might have seen him somewhat dinged up because a slow first step does not seem to match the fast twitch hops that he has.

Honestly, id suggest to fill it up with international stars. Guarantee you every one of them gives it 100%. The lazy effort thing is a cultural issue for US ballers. Not even kidding.

i would pay legit money to never watch Barnes perform any of "skill challenges" ever.

67 years old with two hip transplatations looks more graceful.

And as usual, allstar has been, at least until present moment, complete failure and embarrassment for nba.

That said, i said two weeks ago, i don't belive Mac is worst than Fultz.

Silver got to do something because it seems to be getting worse every season....maybe the game can save it?

NBA All-Star Festivities Weekend Thread (Paolo is busy and booked!)

Post#158 » by Optimus_Steel » Sun Feb 18, 2024 8:15 am

Mac Dunks were impressive and deserved the win. Why were the judges so enamored with Brown? Are they taking regular season record as part of their dunk criteria??? The criticism’s of all star weekend are completely valid. This was the first all star Saturday I’ve watched in years because how useless it’s become and not much has changed. The skills challenge was….wth was that? Why are they making it into an odd “team” competition with no real skill aspect (could be why those guys mailed it in)? They should just end that competition if they continue with this set up as it makes no sense. Completely agree about the lack of energy or trying, do they not want to be there? Why do they act like the competitions are beneath them? The majority of the night was cringe and has been for years.

All I watched were highlights but did it seem like Mac was kind of ignored by the NBA guys? Like a “you don’t belong here” vibe?

Didn’t see the traditional camaraderie among the players…Toppin too. The event just had a kind of negative vibe…if Brown was even remotely close to Mac (nobody was) he would have gotten 50’s and been mobbed by players.

Glad Mac won…btw, he’s a PG and can shoot…give him a look

Tbh it is bad PR for nba players. You have 500 nba active players and nobody can actually dunk worh a damn so you are getting owned by G league guy? :noway:

Or worst, even ones who can, don't want to compete there
