Personally, I really like a lot of our players, but only Franz would be off limits for me.
To trade either Paolo or Suggs would have to be a slamdunk blockbuster. I don't think Fox qualifies.

Last year Suggs had a negative on/off. I love his defence, competitiveness and hustle, but he shouldn't be considered anything close to untouchable in trade talks, especially given his injury history and reckless style of play. If he is all we need to trade to get a star scorer, it's a pretty easy choice for me.
People are gonna drag you for this.
I love Suggs and I'm not trading him, but who the heck knows what our team looks like without Suggs. Who knows what it looks like without any individual player. Our record got tanked by the recent stretch where everyone was hurt at the same time. Too many injuries and weird iterations of the team to judge anything. Like Goga's numbers look good for instance, but he played during the easy stretch that Franz carried and sat during the brutal recent stretch so he had no chance to tank his numbers. Too much small sample noise. If you're saying the team looks horrible without any individual player this year it's probably based off some mythical stuff in your head that isn't really happening on the court.
Do I think Suggs is going to have a very positive effect on winning going forward? Absolutely I do. Nothing has happened the last two years to say they are horrible with him off the court though. It's facts, but you are going to be dragged lol. Heck I'll get dragged for even saying this even though he is probably my 3rd favorite player in the league lol.
I learned that being dragged by some certain posters is more of a validation than anything :p
I agreed with all of your post, but that's my favorite part

If we need a star scorer I think it says more about the failings of our current star scorers than it does of our all defensive guard on one of the league’s best defenses.
Paolo’s only job is to score buckets and pass if a better opportunity is available. Franz plays both sides, and he’s currently the better offensive option as well. To be clear, I’m not making a case to move either, but when scoring is our problem it’s probably worth looking at the guys who are meant to be scoring - especially if they’re in line for a $50M/year extension in a season’s time.
I think guys like KCP, WCJ and Cole are taking minutes and money that could be put to much better use. AB is my guy but he would seem to be the biggest trade chip we’ve got just due to his rookie contract and potential (in the eye of the beholder), so he’s probably in line to get bundled in a consolidation before our guys who are contributing right now.
That said - suffering through this until summer is probably still worthwhile. Take the lumps as a young team with growing pains and terrible injury luck.

"The Kings have received dozens of phone calls and offers in the last 30 hours since I reported this," said Shams Charania on Wednesday evening. "But here's the most important thing to know, I'm told the San Antonio Spurs, according to league sources, are De'Aaron Fox's targeted, preferred destination. And San Antonio is among the interested teams in Fox."

This, Paolo, Franz and Suggs are still leaning and they are our best player.
If the Fox deal is on for Black, Anthony, and a 1st (or 2) you reluctantly take it, the rotation would be really good
Fox/Anthony/Joseph
Suggs/KCP
Wagner/Howard/Houstan
Banchero/Da Silva
WCJ/Bitadze

Fox would be amazing on Orlando. I still think he ends up in San Antonio, but would love seeing him on the Magic.

Fox is expiring right? Plus he has only 3 listed teams thatbwe are not part of.
So yeah... say goodbye to a fox dream

He's got one year after this one, so not totally expiring, but not a long term deal either.
The idea of a team trading for Fox that's not on his "list" would be to replicate the Mitchell situation with Cleveland. Was about the same amount of time on his deal when Utah moved him and Cleveland wasn't where he wanted to go but he saw the grass isn't always greener team hopping. I think Orlando could replicate that with Fox tbh...
That said, the Spurs have a pretty overwhelming amount of assets to throw at Sacramento that easily trumps what the Magic have to offer if they aren't (and shouldn't be) offering Paolo or Franz. So your point is valid, Fox to Orlando is probably a dream right now.

When was the last time the Magic made a trade that instantly made themselves better?
Also, Orlando is where veterans go to fade away.

How would Fox fix our three point shooting problems? This front office should have one goal… fixing that damn problem.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

I know it's not happening, but let me dream. From SI:

Proposed trade package: Jalen Suggs, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Moritz Wagner, 2025 Magic first-round pick for Fox and Kevin Huerter

Re: Magic reportedly eyeing Deaaron Fox trade, preparing for instant title contention
This is likely just going to be another situation where Orlando is unserious about putting its chips in to try and contend. Scared money doesn't make money. We see over and over that the teams out there willing to make the moves and make the gambles are the ones that thrive.
This Luka deal should be a wake up call to everyone in the league that you can't just sit around and hope to catch lightning in a bottle, because there are other teams with way more advantages (read into that what you will) than Orlando who are going to push every edge. And those teams win titles. If you sit around hoping your home grown team of scrappy young guys can eventually catch a Boston or LA organically, you will be sitting around waiting forever.

Boston’s home grown scrappy young players are what provided them the capital to trade for the big names they ended up acquiring. Smart, Nesmith, G.Williams, R.Williams were all part of getting them Brogdon/Jrue/KP.
The team has to do better working the edges though. Moving KCP for a better fit will be a start. Isaac, WCJ and Cole are on filler contracts. AB and Jett still hold “prospect potential” to some.
One good move could increase player value across the board, as will team success, so there’s some value in being strategic with moves.
