Official Orlando Magic Training Camp Thread - Practices Underway

Post#142 » by MasterGMer » Mon Oct 6, 2025 12:33 am

I somehow think it will be a big season for AB. He is still under rookie contract. But soon his rookie extension? Plus Paolo’s contract next season?

But AB has so much potential. If he realizes it, he will be a very big asset for the Magic and very important part of our future

But the question is always how we gonna afford this team. But at least this season, we don’t have to worry about it

Can’t wait. Enjoy the ride!!

Ab needs to show progress this year otherwise he'll be moved. There's no way we can afford him on a beneficial deal for him, IMO.

Probably have to show he can replace Suggs.

CBS posted an analysis of the COY bets. https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/nba-coach-of-the-year-odds-best-bets-for-every-tier-including-several-intriguing-long-shots/

The award tends to go to a winning coach that wins 10 games more than the over under before the season (but not always). Our line is 50.5 games. Maybe we win 60+ games and will this into existence!

6'8
6'0

Thats a pretty tall lineup. Taller than us. Wonder if they click and give us some trouble.

If they can stay healthy, they'll be a really tough team for sure.

they have a great mix of offensive and defensive talent... and a good coach. They are going to click if they stay healthy.

I feel really good about this year. And I was wayyyy too excited about the first preseason game. We just have a collection of guys that gel like family and that excites me. The guys on our roster now seem to really care and desire to do big things.

I wish KCP well.

His play last year also led us to getting Bane.

Can't be mad about that or how he performs going forward.

You know the only thing I read here was "we win 60+ games".

Yet another presser where Coach Mosley extensively discusses "the need for Orlando to improve its conditioning".

Something to look out for?
My fear is that unconditioned players are prone to injury.

So much size just to get destroyed on glass by Houston ( 34 vs 53 ).

Houston has so much talent. They only need some guard(s) to be serviceable. It's a shame they lost Vleet.

As for East, Hawks team looks good, but i still find something odd and missing about them. They will probably need Jalen Johnson to take another leap to become elite team or Dyson Daniels to become reliable shooter.

Pistons are interesting watch, they play like Magic two years ago, when even in preseason they play (too) hard and grind like crazy.

Raptors are interesting watch to me, but for all the wrong reasons. Their entire starting 5 won't pass ball if that pass won't lead toward assist, it's hilarious watch. They all just play for box score . I watched like 5 min of first quarter and i started laughing, they just refuse to make build up passes for offensive sets, Ingram, Barnes, Barrett just dribble until they get into position to shoot or think pass will lead to assist. Off ball movement doesn't exist.
Than their second unit enters and it's almost like they play different sport. They grind, pass, run ,play for each other, try on defense.

Raptors to me are biggest favorite for middle of a season complete retool.

HOU is pretty big themselves

6'9 Sengun
6'11 Jabari
6'11 KD
6'7 Amen
6'2 Reed

Yeah... Raps are built weird. They still wont accept the fact the Scottie isnt a franchise/max player. Amd its so easy to play against them. No one in their starting 5 is a reliable 3pt shooter. I dunno if BI can be considered one.So you just pck the paint.

And ORLANDO:

Suggs: 6'5"
Bane: 6'6"
F Wagner: 6'11"
Banchero: 6'11"
Carter: 6'10"

Not a short team!

The Hawks are going to be a problem.
