Like Cleveland? For aging Benny Wallace and Wally World?

They gave up Hughes, Marshall, and Newble for that.

They are basically banking on an aging Ben Alaace who has had an awful year, a defensive liability in Delonte West and Wally Szczerbiak, and constricting their cap for teh next few years.

It wasn't a good deal for them because they AREN'T winning it this year.

i hope you're right

we will have like 5+ roster spots to fill with those exceptions only. We had 13mil of expiring's which could have filled those same holes. Instead we get "I like our team."

look at this ridiculous statement from this sentinel article

Most of the major deals around the league were done prior to Thursday. Shaquille O'Neal went from Miami to Phoenix, who sent back Shawn Marion and and . Pau Gasol went from Memphis to the Los Angeles Lakers. Jason Kidd went from New Jersey to Dallas earlier this week. Sacramento sent Andre Miller to Philadelphia.

OMG i cant believe this guy is SO BAD, that trade never happened!! lol

this guy is such a joke, how to you put some garbage like that in your article, wth?

First we have to beat the Raptors...and then we will get eaten by the Cavs, no worry about that except if Dwight plays 48mins and takes some drugs.

Ben Wallace has had FOUR double digit rebound games in his last 17 games played. In that time he's averaged 1.4 blocks per game.

The guy is really nothing when you compare him to what he was. I really don't think this deal did that much for the Cavs outside of giving them a cap casualty that will hit them in a season.

If that's what we're doing + MLE, is that really much progress?

I can see us renewing Carlos, Keyon and Evans.

That does nothing to open time for JJ - since we're so intent on keeping him.
That does nothing to improve our PG rotation.

I think we will too. But that still leaves a couple of roster spots and positions where we are weak (pg, sg, pf). The MLE wont be enough to improve on both. Our best chance at making improvements were the 13 million in expirings that were used for nothing.

I liked Otis a lot but after today and after the Cavs trade, it reminds me of the time when he was with the Warriors...

Instead of thinking about not trading JJ he must have thought about helping Dwight inside.

We will get crushed in the playoffs for sure.

Just figure how we gonna play against the Cavs.

Wallace, Joe Smith, Z and Varejao against Dwight...

And Cook the 3pter and Foyle the big stiff.

I mean seriously...

Not doomed, just not as much as advancement as many had hoped for.

Well they won't have all 4 on the floor at the same time ;-)

D12 vs Z as before.

Rashard will move the Fro out of the paint to where he's less comfortable.

Rebounding is where they will kill us, imo.

agreed. We had a shot to add significant talent, but Otis balked so he could hold onto JJ.

I wonder what's otis plan when we only have the MLE in the next 5 years.

He always talks about winning a championship and i believed him until now but a lot of teams got better and we just "like our team as it is".
