You can't say Perry Jones was not strong value at 19

Well, he did luck into the pick. But he refused to make it.

Say what you want, but Top 10 talent is Top 10 talent.
not if it doesn't have its head screwed on.

Perry was dirty about going so low, instead of being excited about the prospect of the caliber of players he's about to join. questionable attitude, IMO.

that said, i'm sure he's aware that the Thunder were shopping the pick so maybe he just doesn't want to make a song and dance about joining a team that's about to trade him.

either way, he was great value at that spot.
Let's take stock here:

PJ3: Questionable attitude and work ethic. Oh, and a TORE UP KNEE.

Nicholson: Seasoned college athlete. Great work ethic and basketball IQ with upside still to come.

Once again, this board prefers flash over substance.

And some of you have the gull to insult other boards when they overreact to a pick. You are literally no better.

Congrats on being just like every other board in the history of the internet.

I think Ryan could get a lethal Dirk like 2 midrange jumper, and his off. Boards and put-backs are huger than you can say, it's a new possession and hustle momentum stealer.

But, again, Nicholson sounds like he gives ORL a second post player WITH Dwight because he didn't need nothing but the ball in the post and was incredibly efficient/crafty there, and he has the range and athleticism to stretch the floor and to maybe should be showing up on D and blocks better than Ryan.

This seems a pick above Harper and Clarks ceilings period.

About BBD, I don't think BBD's defense, hustle and clutch is matched by Nicholson or Ryan yet, or ever. But BBD needs the PnR action greatly to show what he did offensively and more confidently overall. Nicholson's inside scoring DOES NOT. This is why I think BBD struggled some this season, he needed Jameer-caliber guard attacking with him. Nicholson can be very scary in this straight up post feeding action fashion with Dwight on the other block and shooters outside. To top it off, Nicholson has great 3 range incase Dwight's better off in the post alone or it develops as the best half court play. Nicholson also projects to maybe be a better off the bench scorer for not needing a good guard to help score down low.

Because we need a pg and a sf but we drafted a pf. I'm sure this means this team will look different next year.

At least we didn't have terrible drafts like the Cavaliers and the Raptors.

I wonder why he stormed off. Either because he stayed for the 1st pick and that's all he intended to or he knows a bigger picture we don't yet.

I would be a liar if I told you I was disappointed in our draft pick because I don't watch college basketball, so I'm hoping that this pick turns out well for us in the end. :)
