Oh, like the choice to pick whoever we wanted instead of who Houston picked? Certainly that would have been nice, but they drafted well. I'm not sure how much Houston's position has improved at the bargaining table after NJ dropped out. I think other teamns new we wouldn't deal him to the nets. Them amnestying scola equals the space between us I think. I don't think the deal is any worse today than draftvnight, might be better.

If we made that HOU trade on draft night, I wonder who Hennigan would have taken at #12, #16, #18...

If we made the trade on draft night we wouldn't have had the potential to unload as many contracts as we can now. Can anyone fill me in on the latest news ? All i get is the ESPN notifications from my smartphone app.

It's hard for me to agree with you when I don't even know what the actual offer was from Houston.

That's true, but I think we could have squeezed out all three draft picks plus Lowry... Don't you? It's hard to believe they'll give us lamb and jones with toronto's pick now but who knows...

I would've considered it if they got Sac's 5th pick.

You should join twitter, follow all the relevant Magic journalists, and use the twitter app as a news notifier on your phone... way better than relying solely on ESPN.

This. Plus, if im really behind on the spec thread. I just cheat and use twitter to catch up on the info.

Edit: To answer your question. Not much really. Rumor about cavs, magic and laker 3 way seemed to be not serious. I personally thought the most important news of the days was Jacque Vaughn being the front runner for the HC job.
And Knicks might consider not matching Houston's offer on Lin. B/c they just signed Felton.

It was on the last day of magic summer league. Tv Guy mentioned it. Not sure if Josh Robbins said something on it or not, maybe.

The main reason I got my twitter and signed up for this is because Orlando sentinel and Pinstripped post could not keep up with the news breaking this summer and I'd be hours or even a day or two behind. This forum helps with getting the latest news for Orlando because there are some super people who are on top of the info. Same with twitter. i have yet to understand how one can stay logged on so long for any period of time but it does help regarding information.

I was wondering why I had not seen him for HOU summer league yet. But I liked this guy and what he brought to tthe team last year. Young developing point guard who has opportunity to be real solid. I hope we retain him.

i use twitter, infact i am a very addicted twitter user, but now im at my summer vacation house where the internet is straight up bad, plus i live in Lebanon and here the time difference is huge (like 7 hours between the east coast and here), if i sleep at 2-3 AM there's still potential that i miss some news that don't appear between my ESPN notifications. What happens if neither Bulls nor Knicks match ? How would their cap look like now ?

I am a big Ishmael fan so I try to keep up with his contract and stuff. I heard he went to Houston because he wasn't happy with Henny's interest/urgency. They met and did a brief chat early on but seems like he didn't have enough time before summer league and Ishmael wanted a contract. So he gets to Houston and injures his shoulder and then comes back to Orlando to meet Henny.

By my calcs they can take on 34-38 mil of our contracts and still be under cap. That's with asik and Lin. Final number depends on how many rookies and expirings they send (figure assumes Kmart is traded to Orlando)

Been a good amount of shoulder injuries this year in the NBA.

But I hope it's not too serious. Hennigan is a NO BS guy. I don't quite understand what he is trying to do with this team, but from a real prospective on the team I have to recognize the actual horrid situation he walked into. He willingly walked into it which is why I have to give the man a chance. I'm not impressed so far, but I'm not unimpressed neither. It's more of a, "This was no this guys fault" type of scenario for me and my patience with the overall dwight stuff is short. I do see his leadership shine with his decision making and ability to dictate conversation cause one to hesitate with a reply or address to him. Suave GM so far.

Yeah, its hard to judge him. Ryan Anderson is our best window into Henny's mind. I think it says to us, don't pay a big name ( most improved player) to do what a much cheaper player can almost do for a lot less. Yes you need a superstar, but no to 3rd or 4th options making 8 or 9 mil a year.
