Lin, Douglas and Machado look to be Houston's PGs at this moment.

Ok, so I've been out of the loop a bit. Are we totally screwed on a Rockets deal now or what? My dislike of Dwight Howard is growing daily. I really regret ever speaking ill of LeBron after experiencing this fool on my favorite team.

All you did was pretty much twist the argument to include PFs, when were talking about Cs.

total BS
You're grasping at straws. Go back and read all the posts that say all you need is dominant wings.
That's delusional.

Duncan may be listed as a PF, but that guy is a post-up machine. The only two on that list you could argue play a more outside the paint are KG and Dirk.

Last year was the exception, not the rule. Just because you want something to be true, doesn't make it true.

We must be following 2 different discussions. The one I'm following stems from people wanting Bynum for Howard... those saying, C is the hardest position to fill... saying we can rebuild around Bynum now and play to win now... saying Bynum's knees are an equal risk to anything else in basketball ...

I countered by saying you don't need a dominant Center to win a championship. Then I saw you make your history post, which included more PFs than Cs.

You helped me prove my point, but are seemingly debating against an argument that isn't being discussed.... that wings are more important than centers... Nobody is saying that. Nobody is saying that you don't need a strong post presence. Of course you do. Whether it is by PF or C, you need one. It just doesn't HAVE TO be at Center.

You gotta believe!!

At this point I suspect the Rockets are praying their offer sheet for Lin is matched.

Lin to Houston. Knicks have decided not to match. Good for them. Let's see how long it takes for something to get signed by Asik now.

Gasol is getting wayyyyy undersold in this thread. Dude is a legit all star center, worth his weight in gold. If we get both Bynum and Gasol we are getting as close to Dwight's actual value as imaginable, and it instantly solidifies Hennigan's cult status.

You have a link, or are you basing this on the previous comment to that effect? Have they actually announced their decision?

I wonder what happens with trade talks with Houston if Chicago doesn't match Asik as well.

Asik hasn't signed anything yet. There is nothing to match as of now. Even if he did get to Houston, it changes nothing because Houston was never offering that ridiculous trade that took back every bad contract we have. They'd still have ~34 million in cap space after signing Lin Asik and a couple rookies.

Martin is 13
Asik is 8.3
Lin is 8.3
Rookies/vets is 5-10

So roughly 40 million in salary commitments.

Quite sure it is structured that the available caproom will be just enough to absorb Dwight w/o sending about Martin.
