If we keep Howard, it has to he CP3 or bust. Iggy can guard LeBron. CP3 and Howard would destroy Mario Chalmers and Joel Anthony.

I can't see CP3 leaving the Clips after how active they are in free agency and with Blake there. Too much of a good thing going to leave it all for Orlando.

As excited as we want to be about our draft, those aren't going to be selling points to Dwight. Giving Nelson that brand new overpaid contract certainly isn't either. Getting rid of Ryno and bringing Redick back for a year are bad signs of a team trying to show their superstar that they are trying to get better.

For Dwight to come back, things had to happen around him this summer, and they haven't. Hennigan has no selling point.

SAS and everyone else always points to Rob's age and never being a GM before and how he is dumb for not taking Nets offer and not giving in to Lakers. It is about time we had a smart GM that does not give in. If HOU or LAL want Howard bad enough, they will man up. Esp HOU. No way they would be happy going into the season with Lin/KMart/Parsons/Patterson/Asik. They would host the All-Star game with having one of the worst records in NBA. Asik has no offensive game at all. Lin is turnover prone. Parsons needs the ball in his hands. KMart chucks. They have some great youth but they aren't rebuilding. Lin and Asik are pointless contracts in a rebuild. Hennigan is probably like...give me what I want or good luck sucking when you could be contending.

I agree. which is why we might not ever win a title with Howard...

Hoping Henny is a genius with a championship plan!

But those big men with the exception of Russell were dominant offensive players. Thats the key here. Dwight isn't dominant on offense. It is simply not a weakness you can just ignore and pass it off on his "lack of help".

But but but Jameer never got him the ball in the position he needed it ....

Yeah...
Duhon/JJ/Hedo/Clark/Howard would definitely sweep everyone on the way to the Title with Finals MVP going to Duhon.

Believe what you want. Fegan and Dwight know exactly what they want. They opted in because it gave Dwight the chance to earn the most money. You guys act like there is a smart way to do what they want to do. They know what they want and they very well might get it. In the moment they don't look smart because they are still with the Magic. This story is far from ended and Dwight may very well get what he wants. If that happens, I'd call that smart.

Man phuck Hennigan if he really wants to keep Dwight until the deadline.....what does that accomplish exactly? the deals won't get better......they'll either stay the same or get worse......plus we really don't know how jacked up Dwight's back really is.....i'm hearing he'll be ready soon and i'm hearing he'll miss a few months worth of games......What will keeping him accomplish really? We're not going to win anything with him on the roster as it's currently constructed....plus if we keep Dwight we can't make any big short term moves so we'd be more or less the same as last season.....WHY? wasn't really buying the Devos forcing Henny to convince Dwight angle but maybe there is some credence to it......i mean after all that's happened trying to convince Dwight at this point in time is just not logical to me unless i'm missing something....

Man i just want this to be over but Ownership seems like they want to keep this circus going.....WTH is going on? Is it really about money like Dwight said? Having Dwight here does keep the revenue going and puts butts in the seats.....maybe i'm over thinking......

Bingo! Jingo! Jango!

Henny is just a puppet GM that the team lets control the draft. I bet it was Martins or Devos who gave Jameer that contract too.

57.5% of plays run for Dwight are Post-Ups. Dwight is ranked 55th in points per post-up. In the Pick n Roll he is ranked #2 in the NBA. He is also top 50 in points created off of offensive rebounds and in transition. Overall offense he is ranked 93rd.

All this in a year of down offensive numbers for him.

He isn't exactly a scrub as a primary offensive option. Melo is ranked 164th on offense, Wade 93rd (right there with Dwight), Rose 164th, Westbrook 164th, and so on. (they round their numbers at synergy, hence the clumped rankings).

I don't see why Dwight can't win as a primary offensive option while contributing what he does on the defensive end.

Edit: these are efficiency numbers, not volume numbers. Obviously Dwight ranks much higher in volume.

What would make you think otherwise? Any GM would want Dwight Howard's talent on their team. If we rebuild, even if we get the best package with Houston giving us everything we wanted. 3 1st rd picks, Parsons, Lamb, D-Mo, etc... It's not a given that we'll have a player that comes anywhere near Dwight's caliber. Look at Cleveland. They ended upw ith the #1 and #4 overall pick the year after LeBron left. And they Kyrie Irving. Now, I like Kyrie, but I don't see him ever approaching Dwight and LeBron's level. So yes, if we don't trade Dwight, that means Hennigan wants to build around him.

Dwight is clearly indecisive, maybe thats not dumb but it's not smart. It would be very interesting to listen in on the presentation. I bet the reality of the behind the scene dealings would be very different from what we think they are

I think at this point I would rather get a deal that included Lamb, D Mo, another player, Tor pick, Houston pick and cap relief for Dwight and a few others. It's too far gone. I don't think Dwight has the mental maturity to play within himself and that for me has been the biggest problem with Dwight. A properly focused Dwight Howard could absolutely lead a team to a title, but he lives in the shiny bright lights and has lost himself. He has forgotten how he best affects a game which is on the defensive end. .
