I want to add that... Boston's deal is much better than what Houston/LA are trying to do... as sad as it may sound

Frees up 7 million in cap space for GSW

The Hawks get raped in that deal.

How do the Hawks get raped? :-? They get a legit point in Monta, shed Johnson's monstrous contract saving millions in the process and get a starting center. They arguably made out better than we did.

I don't think Biedrins is a starting caliber C anymore and we all know about Hedo. so imo oppinion they get rid of 2 of their best players for Monta.

The Boston deal would be pretty good for NOLA, IMHO. But the rumor is that CP wouldn't sign an extension in Boston. Hope that's true...

Rumors definitely picking up speed. I would be SO angry if NO trade CP3 for that HOU deal. The most substantive rumors I heard were CP3 to Boston. But they seemed to be shut down by talk he didn't want to stay there long term. Maybe Ainge can convince him or show him the long-term plan to sway him.

probably because we're the push-overs of the NBA... idk... or realistically, we have financial idiots managing the budget of the franchise

What concerns me about this deal if it goes down is that this could mean he and Dwight have decided they want to play for the Lakers. The Lakers will still have Bynum to deal at the end of it.

what can we offer that is better than that?

Would Boston be able to work a way to get rid of some bad contracts, amnesty, and end up with room for CP3 and Dwight? Ugh....we'd probably end up with Glen Davis.

Surely you mean Golden State?

Nope, i meant the Hawks. they get Monta Ellis for Joe Johnson and Smoove. not a good deal imo.

I thought GS got the bad end of that deal

I don't like what GS get either but i personally think the Hawks get the worst part of the deal. they would be paying alot of money and not get the talent in return it's not worth it imo. but it is a hypothetical trade so it won't happen anyway.

Sadly, after this year they could potentially have a ton of room. They'd only have Pierce and one or two rookie contract guys...as of now at least.

NOH might just be like screw it, let's get back as much quality talent as we can... let Boston and CP3 deal with it

Either way, CP3 is going to opt out in the Summer... regardless if he's on NOH or some other team

Just as I expected. No one wants to sign with us until the shoe drops on Dwight. This is all on Otis now. The trade route has to be the way to go.

But if Ainge calls him and says, here's our plan to get Dwight next summer. Will you sign?

CP3's friend said Paul didn't want to sign there because they were too old. You can take that as saying I don't want to play there, or you can take that as, move your old assets or get a plan together to bring in young talent.

Allen and KG's contracts are up after this season. The reason they are trading for CP is because they want Dwight.
