I love how the other teams get guys who help them now and help their chances in free agency in 2012 while we get stuck with Glen Davis for 4 years @ 6.5 per.

Because Otis is dead weight like Gilbert was for the magic.. I am dumfounded on how he remains the gm for all these years

let's get bynum!!! Dwight does NOT want to be here! bynum says he will play anywhere. we can rebuild with bynum. I couldn't stand the thought of brook lopez being a cornerstone.

I say keep him for this year and at least fill the stands of the 500 million dollar arena that "he built". Then force him to walk away from 30 million at the end of the year or stay. How sad will the all star game be if we have no all stars?

Depressing.

I'm guessing the internal conflict right now is over summer of 12'. I think we might have one group saying Dwight hasn't given them word he'll stick around and think he's going to jet in the offseason regardless. The other side thinks that if they build around Dwight now he will stay. Either way, they're debating this because he's not going to sign anything until the summer, even if he says he's going to stay with them. There is a great deal of risk. I don't think it's a bad sign this debate is dividing the FO, it's a good debate to have. Do you take Dwight "at his word" as the CEO puts it, and assume if you build a good team he's going to stay. Or do you protect yourself and trade him before you no longer can.

So RDV/Martins want to keep D12 and improve the roster, but Otis wants to trade D12 ?

Put me in the camp of do not trade Dwight no matter what. Infinite possibilities of what can happen in one year.

Give this man some cornbread.

Reading into Martins' comments, he consistently is saying he is taking Dwight at his word. He believes what Dwight is saying. I think Martins is the guy who is trying to keep Dwight.

I can't come up with a reason Otis wants to trade Dwight other than he thinks he can't build the team Dwight wants. Otis seriously thinks he's done a great job and is probably thinking there's no way he can do better than what he's done in the last few years. Seriously, listen to his PC, he is so high on himself and these trades he's made.

In Part 4 I plan to be

-less optimistic
-Drink less when I hear bad Magic News
-Try to be kinder to Otis Smith
-exercise more

We don't know where the divide is, but most think this.

It seems too easy to just get rid of Otis and go forward with what ownership wants if that's the case. I think it may be Martins/new guy who took BVW spot. Things do point to Otis being open to trade though, because he seems to have given permission for talks to other teams w/o Martins and crew knowing about it.

Nene bid is up to 17.5 million. There's no scenario where we get that on our books, is there?

Why argue NOW, let's decide what to do when we get closer to the deadline. Give the teams in the "Dwight sweepstakes" a chance to improve their offer AND give us a time to improve this team

JRich s&t
MLE
Gortat TPE

That's lotta options to make small improvements to the team

If it comes down to trading dwight i guess we should send him and turk to NJ for lopez(who i hate and would trade for a early first pick) marshon brooks(think this kid is gonna be a stud) and whatever picks they have. also should try to get 3rd team involved to send young prospects and picks. no semi allstars and vets i want to tank this year and get this rebuild on the road. this years draft is stacked and we cant try to stay somewhat competitive and miss a good pick in this draft. that's the impression we're getting

remember last night after practice, d12 had a nice 45sec chat with alex, arms around him... i think dwight likes alex, and alex wants him to stay.. not so sure about otis lol.. i mean look at all of otis' moves.. i feel like he's purposely trying to drive howard away from us
