Did you just really say that Glen Davis, Chris Duhon, Quentin Richardson and JJ Redick is one of the best benches in the NBA.

I just want one last shot in the playoffs with Dwight. This has been one helluva roller coaster ride of a season. It has its ups and downs. But, I believe in this team and don't want to quit on them when they are peaking. Stan and the rest of the Magic players deserve to finish what they started with Dwight. After that, let the cards fall where they may. I am of the mind of "screw the haters" that are ready to give up on this season now.

JJ Redick and... who else? C'mon man, not even close. And haters or realists? I was down to keep Dwight all season, but reality has kicked in. The reality that Dwight is going to leave us up the river without a paddle. We need to do what's best for our future. Everybody with any basketball knowledge knows we aren't beating the top teams 4 times out of 7 in the playoffs.

Sadly, he's STILL a big upgrade over Duhon in terms of competence and contract length (I think it's one less year).

Artest is on a bad contract and can only guard power players like Pierce or Carmelo at this point
Lakers draft picks are never good.

TBH, I haven't watched enough Lakers games to dispute this statement, but MWP SEEMS like a guy that would be able to defend guys like Pierce/Deng/Lebron/Josh Smith in the PO's better than Hedo at half the price.

Draft picks are a crap shoot, but still an asset that can be used in trade.

A little man called Fran. ;)

Out of curiosity....for those who ACTUALLY have watched him (I don't follow Euro ball at all)....how good is he? Is he a good defender? Can he be a legit 15-10 starting guy in the NBA?

I dont think so. You can compare him with Tiago Splitter, but Tiago is way better in terms of scoring points. Probably Fran can become a 8p/6r center.

one of the rare times that sarcasm turns out to be the right idea.

rebuilding through draft and free agency takes at least 5 years with 2 years of hardcore sucking. don't worry, duhon will be working for the front office and glen will be 400 pounds by the time we are anywhere near a real contender.

I am not talking about you, but I think 95% of this board have not seen their team rebuilt.

Yeh our bench is complete trash. I think this is partly why the Magic FO has said they want a "Carmelo type trade package". Denver has prob the deepest bench in the NBA thanks to Melo, and when healthy is an extremely dangerous team, despite having no superstars. Just a bunch of very good players, lots of them, all playing well off each other. Also, WHEN COMPLETELY HEALTHY, I do honestly believe they have a shot of coming out of the West.

And like I said before, we are going to need a center. You can wait and hope one falls in your lap, or you can get one now. Say what you want about Bynum...he may not be as good as Dwight, but good luck finding one as good as Bynum in the future, too. If you can't have Dwight, then Bynum is the next best thing. If you could go back and have traded Shaq for like Mourning or something (a lesser center, but still great), I bet you do it instead of letting him walk. Instead we had the likes of Doleac, DQ, Hunter, Burke manning the center position for years.

If Dwight walks, we are like 30 million under the cap in 2013, plus we will have our own draft pick to help things a bit.

So people really think we have a chance at winning it all this season? Really? Because that would be the only reason to keep him.

Dwight/Hedo/BBD for MWP/Bynum/Fisher

then

JRich/Orton/Harper/2nd for Beasley/Darko

Jameer/Fisher
JJ/Von
Beasley/MWP/Clark
Anderson/Beasley/Clark
Bynum/Darko

thats a top 4 team in the East if Bynum can stay healthy. I do think he will be a 25/12 type player with more offensive touches and his 70+ free throw %

why do we assume that dwight nixed a possible monta trade?

I think GSW did not want to deal with us. I keep saying, no team will help us keep dwight. Let me explain.

for example, let's assume nash for ryno works in terms of equal value. but again let's assume nash in orlando would mean dwight opting in. that means nash's net value far exceeds his invidual value. This would tip the scales in favor of PHX. Now they can ask for way more than what nash would command and we pretty much have to overpay, of course there is an equilibrium to be found.

And if we make this trade with Minn today, see what happens and SnT D12, if necessary, to LA for Bynum in offseason? Wouldnt that be good?

This is really an easy decision: Keep Dwight. We are going to suck next year regardless. what, just because we have Brook Lopez we will make the playoffs? Umm, no we arent. and NJ picks arent going to be that great either. suck ass next year and in 2013 get a high draft pick. by that time Turk is tradeable at 6 mil only, trade J rich now for Beasley to get rid of that contract, Jameer is off the books. have the opportunity to sign a good FA that offseason and get a good draft pick. Whether we have Lopez and Marshon doesnt change the fact that we will still suck. We arent making the playoffs with those two. I have to think long term and that is to keep Dwight, let him walk, suck next year (which will suck), get a high draft pick and sign a solid FA and start rebuilding. This is the best option for us.

and im NOT taking Bynum on his 80 year old knees. i cringe everytime i see him go up for a rebound thinking his knee cap is going to bust.
