I actually think that his preps-to-pros jump probably did factor into his behavior during this entire process. I don't know how far along he went with college recruiting/letters of intent, etc. But if he never had to go through that decision making process then this is all fairly new to him. Signing a new contract after his rookie contract was a no-brainer considering the state of the team at the time (on the way up), but he really had some things to think about where he wanted to spend his prime years. He still does.
