I actually think that his preps-to-pros jump probably did factor into his behavior during this entire process. I don't know how far along he went with college recruiting/letters of intent, etc. But if he never had to go through that decision making process then this is all fairly new to him. Signing a new contract after his rookie contract was a no-brainer considering the state of the team at the time (on the way up), but he really had some things to think about where he wanted to spend his prime years. He still does.

If Hedo and Duhon are traded, Orlando will not have ball handlers. Nelson will miss more games this season; do we fans really want Smith to start?

There are some veteran PG's that can be signed... I mentioned Anthony Carter is out there...

ESPN wow!!! If Dwight would have walked he would have signed a 4yr deal in NJ, all they kept saying was he still young and he will get another MAX contract, after the 4yrs. So now he opts in for 1yr after that yr and he can get MAX contract still in his 20's but they are not saying that ish!!!! WOW!!!!!

They'll sign it at 12:15pm... in the meantime they are watching Dwight's favorite film... Finding Nemo... Hedo's also bringing over some pizza.

I knew something was off with their facts when I saw that graphic.. ESPN... or BSPN skewing facts yet again to push their point/agenda.

Grizzlies traded Sam Young to the 76ers. Wouldn't have minded him off of Orlando's bench.

Orlando has more pressing things to take care of then signing Sam Young

New respect for this man!

He isn't losing money. ESPN are just flat stupid. They think that even if Howard opts in, the Magic plan on trading him, basically saying Howard gives up his rights.

The last year of Howard's contract is 19+ million. If he was to opt out and sign a new 5 year deal, it would start at about 17 million. He is actually making about 2 million more opting in, then signing a 5 year deal in the summer of 2013, then opting out and signing a brand new deal in the summer of 2012.

Ha, I wouldn't doubt it.

No but thats why I had Eric Bledsoe from the Clippers coming over who is much better than Duhon and Smith so if Nelson got hurt he would be starting, so why do you guys not at least know who the players are coming back in a deal before running off responses half cocked
