You reckon? I'm pegging McCollum as our 2nd pick up. Could definitely go either way, though.

I think a lot will depend on whether or not Noel slips to us at #2. Cavs might not be sure they can get Washington to pull a swap of Noel for Porter and may just go Porter straight up.

Vuc
Noel
Harris
Harkless
McCollum

That's got go-to offense from McCollum and Harris, potentially Vuc too. Solid defense and rebounds from 2-5. Thats like a OKC-lite with a much better frontcourt. McCollum/Harris aren't anywhere near Westbrook/Durant levels, but Vuc/Noel should shut down the paint and be much more of a weapon on offense than Perkins/Ibaka have been. Moe could easily be Thabo and easily be better, too.

It really depends on who's draft pick we get. I would be surprised if McCollum is still on the board @ 13 (Dallas). Honestly I wouldn't even be surprised if he's off the board @ 9 (Minny).

cant see Minny going with CJ. They need a good SG bad. They already have plenty of PG's.

Sorry, I didn't mean that Minny will draft McCollum I meant that he will definitely be drafted by Dallas' pick and he may be possibly off the board by Minny's pick.

Yeah, a lot of mocks have him goin to Detroit at #8. Kings could potentially take him, too. If we can swing deals with Dallas AND Minny, a 9 + 13 package might be enough to get us one of their picks. Or a #9 for #7 swap with NOH could be on the cards too.

I just hope we don't have another situation like last summer, where nothing happened on draft day and teams all signed their rookies and then we had to wait again for them to be trade eligible. I want our guys on our roster June 25th, then do our summer league, and our preseason.

You may be right.

Let Henny get a "I <3 Stern" tattoo on his chest? Stern on his sternum. Sounds hardcore. Rename the Amway Center "The Magical David Stern Center of Wonder and Awesome"? Rename City Walk "David Stern"?

I know how the Magic could win next years #1 overall pic!

Make a secret handshake deal with Stern to develop Wiggins so they can trade him to LA 4 years from now.

I love you BMP, except for the times I hate you. Like right...about...now.

I think that's about where he falls, and he's one of the more intriguing guards in the draft. I hope you're right, so long as we don't give up too much to get one of those extra picks.

Here's what I'd like to see (probably a pipe-dream, but whatever).

---------------------------------------------

Trade 1: ORL/PHX

Orlando sends: #2 pick
Orlando receives: #5 pick, #30 pick

Phoenix sends: #5 pick, #30 pick
Phoenix receives: #2 pick

---------------------------------------------

Trade 2: ORL/MIN/UTH

Orlando sends: Arron Afflalo, E'Twaun Moore
Orlando receives: #14 pick, #21 pick

Minnesota sends: #9 pick
Minnesota receives: Arron Afflalo, E'Twaun Moore

Utah sends: #14 pick, #21 pick
Utah receives: #9 pick

---------------------------------------------

Trade 3: ORL/SAS

Orlando sends: Glen Davis, #51 pick
San Antonio sends: #28 pick

---------------------------------------------

All told, the Magic wind up with 5 picks, all first-rounders (#5, #14,#21,#28,#30). We use the picks to draft the following players:

5. Oladipo
14. Šarić
21. Mitchell
28. Adetokunbo
30. Wolters

C: N. Vucevic/ K. O'Quinn
F: A. Nicholson/ T. Mitchell
F: T. Harris/ D. Šarić/ G. Adetokunbo
G: M. Harkless/ V. Oladipo
G: J. Nelson/ N. Wolters

In the Minn and Utah trade, with our #2 pick, we would have three first rounders? Is that too much though?

IDK who this is or who Carlos Douglas Jr. is, but here you go.
Chicago Bulls Rumors ‏@chicagobullsbot 40m
Rumor: Chicago Bulls have recently spoken with the Orlando Magic about Arron Afflalo according to league source. (Source: Carlos Douglas Jr)

I'm assuming this is Carlos Douglas Jr. https://twitter.com/TheRealC_Los
Perhaps folks on the Bulls board could offer thoughts on his legitimacy.

I'd do AA for the 20, Hinrich, and Rip.

Like what you proposed, we would have three first rounders in the case of Minn and Utah trade. 3 first rounders in a week draft. Is 3 first rounders too much for Magic this year?

How badly do you want a shot at Wiggins?

I don't see the Magic targeting McCollum because they already have a very good developing combo guard in Moore. That is just me though. Magic need a true PG via draft or trade to take over after Meer.

Read it again and you'll see that I'd like the Magic to end up with FIVE (5) first rounders this year. The truth is this draft is very weak at the top, but there's a a lot of parity in the first round. There are enough guys with enough upside that if you cast your net widely enough, you just might land on something.

I don't get your question. But Magic is going to tank next season regardless of roster. It is on the managerial and coaching level.

Also 2014 doesn't only have Wiggins. With a top 4 pick again next year would guarantee us Randle, Parker or Harrison Twins even Joel Embiid. If those wouldn't become superstars, but definitely a core.

2014 draft is the whole thing. Magic should be ready to load picks in lottery. Big plans are coming...

You asked "is 3 first rounders too much?" I asked you how bad you wanted Wiggins. The difference between having our current team as constructed and having this 5 1st round pick team is the difference between worst record and possibly 8-10th worse. That's a lot of ping pong balls.
