This playoff race is going to be wild.

It looks like a two-way race for the final play-in spot between the Nets and Hawks, with the Hawks the favorite.

Chicago looks solidly in 9th.

ESPN analytics has the Pacers in 8th, then a virtual tie between the Sixers and Heat for 6/7, and then a virtual tie between the Magic and Knicks for 4/5.

If its Sixers vs Pacers and Bulls vs Hawks I'm picking Sixers over Pacers, Hawks over Bulls, and then Pacers over Hawks.

Celtics over Pacers in 4
Sixers over Cavs in 6
Bucks over Heat in 5
Knicks over Magic in 5

If you think East is wild, check out the West.

It might irk some people to talk about contending when we are yet to see Paolo and Franz taste playoff basketball, but to me it needs to be all about what's next and how to get there.

As it stands, I see only two teams as clear contenders for coming out of East - Celtics and Bucks, with Heat alway lurking in shadows waiting to pounce at any weakness they might have (and they do). Clearly we are not on that level yet, and it is not even close. But, neighter are rest of the East - and that presents a chance. So, while we may get to enjoy some thrilled games this postseason, I am more anxious to see the plan and execution for getting us to contender status next season.

Re: the Heat... anyone else think of MIA gets called properly by the refs they wouldnt be that good? They do a lot of moving screens esp by Bam and holding/grabbing plus Kevin Loves dangerous undercuts.

Not sure about refs, but those guys embrace the underdog status coming into playoffs and bring it every night, every second on the floor.

They embrace underdog status knowing the ish they have been doing won't be called on them while it is called on others. I look at the moving screens of Bam and the grab to delay/impede the speed of the opponents and i keep wondering why it isn't called.

Keyonte is going to be fine. He's a rookie but my goodness does he make a ton of mistakes. I'm sure he wouldn't be playing for Mose this year.

Mose would not care, the defense and TO's are crazy bad. He is a bucket though. No denying that.

To clarify, if Orlando wins and the Knisks and Sixers both lose, a very likely outcome, Orlando will be sitting at #4 in the Eastern standings!

Orlado already won the tiebreaker with NYKs and already lost the tiebreaker with Philly, for those keeping score.

Well they do that on purpose. There is a quote from Pat Riley essentially saying that they foul every single time because he knows the refs eventually stop calling it if you foul every time, so yes they intentionally play that way to get away with stuff and they do get away with a lot as a result.

Simons would've been nice to get with the 11th pick.

Not sure how you can watch the game and walk away thinking Keyonte is a sure bet winner. He's a bucket. No doubt. And he would be racking up a TON of DNP-CD's just like Jett. The amount of mistakes he has made down the stretch is not going to help anyone win.
