Dwight is top 75. Hands down.

Think whatever you want about him off the court.

SVG got the most out of him and that team was so much fun to watch night in and night out.

Like Melo said…. Teams feared Dwight. He got to the point where you HAD to double him and with Meer Shard Hedo JJ…. The floodgates were open.

no he isnt

So he wasn’t better than Bill Sharman who averaged 18 points 4 rebounds & 3 assists who is on the list?

Dwight has 3 DPOYs….8 all stars appearances… 5 first team all NBA (been all nba 8 times)… 5 all nba defensive team… Was the biggest part in the Magic being a top team. Played a big role in Lakers winning a ring.

Sure take Bill Sharman

Dwight is not only a top 75 player of all time, he's a top 50 player of all time.

34th all time in win shares.

You take him off that Magic team that was making the runs and they are irrelevant. As much as I loved Meer Shard Hedo JJ Lee

Anyway, to be honest I was trying to be cute and clever, and failing.

Howard left a sour taste in most of our mouths with how the end of his time here played out. But when he and the team were at the top of their game, it was pretty game changing. He allowed that 4 shooters out offense to really shine. From many accounts, his peers at the time hugely respected his ability.

So given who else is in this official top 75, it does seem unjust he isn't included and like there is something more going on there.

And then suggesting he is outside top 300, well that does just seem a little bit like your planting your lightening rod.

I'd put Dwight's five-year run from 2008 to 2012 up there with any other big man's five-year run in the history of the game.

5 consecutive 1st Team All-NBA
Top 5 in MVP voting 4 of 5 years (7th the other year)
1st team All-Defense 4 of 5 years (2nd team the other year)
3 consecutive Defensive Player of the Year (3rd and 7th the other years)

If he had just gotten a ring in 2009 or 2010...

Dwight is an all-time great almost up there with Shaq's dominance. Like I was at Shaq's first game in Orlando, I was at Dwights as well. I even got a picture of me sitting in his chair in front of his locker. Shaq stepped on my foot at Barbarella's dance floor once. Fun times indeed. I thoroughly enjoyed those years and went to about a dozen games each year they both played.

Dwight was probably one of the 4-5 most physical dominant players of all time.
Unlike guys like Robinson, Ewing or now Embiid he even played better in the playoffs.
He was a 1 man top 3-5 defense.

He was fouled like few other player before not because of his low ft% but because only 2-3 defenders in the league could defend him in single coverage

Got to the finals with a team of at best 1-2 fringe all stars.

I always laugh when I see guys like young Drummond or now Duren compared to him. Dwight was 2 levels above them as a athlete. Except young Shaq & Wilt, unique combination of speed, vertical, explosiveness, reflexes, mass & strength.
Pre back injury Dwight was a freak of nature.

He is a clown & the way he forced his way out was embarrassing, but his peak as a player was pretty pretty pretty good & dominant.

I'm still mad at Dwight for leaving and glad his career went to ish after he forced his out but he's definitely top 75. Anthony Davis ain't doing ish with that 08 Magic roster.

Learned something new today: coach Mosley can still dunk!

It was Nov. 8, and practice was winding down inside the Arena Ciudad de Mexico, one day before the Magic faced the Atlanta Hawks in the annual NBA Mexico Game.

Moments earlier, point guard Markelle Fultz had issued the challenge to his 45-year-old coach with the entire team huddled at midcourt.

"Come on, Coach, you said we gotta bring it," Fultz told Mosley, who stays in shape with mixed martial arts training and occasionally jumps into drills during practices to ramp up the intensity. "All right, you go to get one in."

Mosley knew exactly what Fultz meant: A demand for the 6-8 third-year coach to throw down a dunk.

Mosley took one dribble just outside the 3-point line and then committed a massive traveling violation, taking 10 steps before leaping off his left foot with the ball in his right hand. Players giddily jogged behind their coach and jumped when he finally took off.

Mosley's vertical proved just enough, as he squeaked the ball over the rim and through the net, much to the delight of his players.
