The Effect wrote:We arent getting deron no matter what people want to think, BUT, i could see us making a serious run at Goran Dragic. Hennigan was in san antonio during the 06 and 07 seasons so was likely part of the scouting done on dragic before they drafted him.

Dragic likely wont ever be on Derons level, but hes still one of the better young PGs and can probably be had at a good price and would give us a true play making PG, something we havent had since alston, and look what happened when we had him starting.

Not really sure how realistic it is, but would be pretty happy if we were able to steal him away from the rockets

I would rather have Dragic @ 10 million than Deron @ 18 million. I think Dragic is going to be a breakout star next season. Maybe he won't ever be on Derons level but I don't think its such a foregone conclusion that he can't be.

18 ppg, 8.5 apg, 3.5 rpg, 49%/38%/80% shooting in 28 games as a starter last season.

Harden isn't even a free agent this summer.

Deron isn't out of the picture either. people forget that if he looks to be considering leaving Brooklyn, that they'll look to take value back rather than lose him for nothing. Ryan s&t + JJ + filler would look much better than... Deron signing with Dallas and leaving them with nothing. a good GM will make sure Brooklyn feels the weight of that pressure all summer.

I'm only doing this b/c DJ is paying me $50 for every speculation thread I make. I'm surprised that I'm the only taker! :)

does anyone else think that with Hennigan coming in, we might finally be looking at the end of deadweight players like Hedo and JRich? those guys, and the attitudes they've had the past couple of seasons, wouldn't cut it on either SAS or OKC. hopefully we're going for a legit culture change, and not just hoping that our current guys can find form again.

I think there was a recent report that the Nets won't do S&T if they aren't getting star back.

Getting rid of J-Rich needs to be priority #1.

yes, absolutely. We'll have a real basketball mind in place. He's coming from places that don't tolerate Duhon, J-Rich, Hedo's.

I am no fan of JRich and I never wanted him resign but people are making it out to sound like he is absolutely untradeable. We can trade him (without giving away positive assets).
