Maybe....but people act like these guys are the second coming or something. We have a late first round pick, a 2nd round pick, an unproven rookie. I mean...Pau is a 20-10 guy, a proven talent/all-star. Without Bynum/Kobe taking a lot of his touches I am sure he would put up about 20-10. Would play very well next to Lin imo. I don't think Mchale wants to sit there and keep trudging along with a bunch of young guns as a sub .500 type team.

Yeh, but Afflalo has a lot of upside I think (and it was stated Magic brass think so too?) if given the role to be primary guard scorer on a team? Denver had way too many guys sharing the ball, which is why his numbers weren't as good as they prob couldn't been.

And JJ can't do all this:

;)

You mean hit a shot and make the score 0?

:D

I dont get what the hell people like Turner for. No stat suggests he'll do well, his most, most optimistic peak stat line is like a 6'7 version of Hedo with 14, 5 apg and 7 rbg. I think from Philly, Holiday and Harkless are better prospects to work with overall.

I love a ton of Denver assets, I dont think any of them are coming to us though. If this deal nets Ty Lawson, which is very probably not, I would love it, that's the best young player in these 4 teams. Faried, Afflalo are also great grabs and I'd be ready to roll with Afflalo for sure, I can see him scoring a lot out of necessity for our lotto teams at first, and he is a legit defender, the best SG you'll get thats not an all star. And I was surprised to see he is still 26, and I remember he was toiling in DET unplayed a lot in his earlier career, so that bodes well for remaining a versatile and defensive guard through a rebuilding and new era Magic team. And from the draft, I've been and will always be high on Quincy Miller. I sincerely believe we can have a very nice 2-3 if we got and developed Miller with Afflalo with say JJ and Liggins right there in the rotation too. And Quincy would be much of the go to scoring kind of player unlike Afflalo and anyone else. Izzet looks like a nice 7 footer prospect too, if he develops further.

The deal as a whole looks kind of bad, not sure how Gasol lands us anything nice or LAL would've done it, but maybe LAL was looking for immediate rotational help and we're looking for picks or young players. So in a nice world of GM's, I'd flip Gasol immediately in a 5-way or right after for any likely lotto pick, and take on Quincy Miller, Izzet, LAL/DEN/PHI 1st, Afflalo. J Rich or Duhon is taken by DEN. Iggy and Harkless to DEN. Bynum, Ebanks and J Rich or Duhon taken by PHI. LAL takes Dwight, Harrington who is less money than Turk and J Rich because of his unguaranteed portions. We'd have a pretty nice team to tank if we flipped BBD, JJ next after Gasol, using Afflalo, Miller, lotto, multipleee 1st's to help Jameer, Nicholson, Liggins/O'Quinn in the new young team, hopefully getting 2-3 lottos in a row to see a tangible core that will grow into at least perennial ECF contenders.

Dwight / jrich for afflalo / Gasol?

BUUUULLLLLL$HIIIIAT....I find that hard to believe. Two weeks before the rockets can trade their rookies....smells like a smoke screen from someone.

Or maybe Gasol is a 20/10 guy because of Kobe/Bynum...

Also, I don't think it will work.

If HOU's offer is so weak, then this deal is taken.... that's the whole point, at some point HOU doesn't budge and ORL goes another way.

I like it if Iggy + Bynum are coming here, maybe even Aflalo (SP) + Evan Turner + Bynum.

Keep Gasol though, unless we already have someone on deck to trade for him...

See: Memphis Grizzlies. His numbers have been pretty damn consistent his entire career. I don't know why everyone hates on Pau so much. Still a very very talented big man. Just soft, but very talented and smart.

If you think Gasol and Afflalo is the way to go, I think Orlando should definately take it. I disagree, still think the Hou deal is better, but whatever.

Although, if thats the direction you are going, seems like it would be better to just deal straight with LA and take Gasol/Bynum for your yourselves.

The 76ers make out like bandits in this trade. Definitely a smokescreen. I don't like this trade at all.

I know that you guys don't like the deal but honestly, I feel this deal is s*** for us as well. Harrington is not an upgrade of Gasol. Richardson, as a wing, definitely isn't. You guys want a lot and that's understandable to a certain extent, but to lose height and talent? It just seems like we're getting robbed straight up. I want to see Nash and Gasol together offensively. And Howard may not even be ready for the beginning of the season!

I don't want to end up with an older Al Harrington, who would probably not even start for us. Not to mention him and Jamison do the same exact thing, play perimeter stretch four.

No disrespect, and granted we have Nash and Kobe, but that kinda turns us into only a little bit better version of what you guys used to be back in 09. Not in contention with OKC and MIA.

Harrington is a nice stretch-4 option with Nash and Dwight now. Would fit very well I think, plus they save some money and not go into the insane luxury tax realm.

You would have Kobe, Dwight, Nash, and you think you are only a "little" bit better than our 09 team? REALLY? Holy crap it must be amazing to be a Lakers fan. Us Magic fans would literally jump for joy if our core big 3 were those three guys. You Lakers fans are unreal.

Im wondering that too, so I like that LAL is willing to now part both Bynum/Gasol. But the careful look shows LAL is still taking on less money with Harrington than they would with either J Rich or Turk, and they'd need Harrington positionally with both Bynum/Gasol gone into Dwight alone. I'm pretty high on Quincy Miller though, he's a big reason Id do the deal, as well as assuming Gasol is someway flipped for another nice piece at some point. This is a large deal, I think we're missing a pick(s) or a prospect(s) ORL has yet to be reportedly receiving also in any potential deal.
