DeQuan Jones is a very interesting prospect from all I'm looking from. He has potential to replace Eyenga or Liggins and maybe more down the line. He's supremely athletic, good size for a wing player, and very promising as a defender. But skills-side, he's not good. This is where again, I don't think the IQ and defense of Jones and Eyenga would make them good like I think Liggins is/can get to. I think Liggins (I know, I sound like a player fan again) has elite level defense as opposed to just more of a "good defender." But Jones is straight down the alley of players SAS and hopefully Hennigan&Crew can make into steals and big rotation players/starters. He has height and the physical tools and NBA quickness; just gotta work on him like a Gortat project to grow team schemes IQ and offense.

On the trade front, I think the vast majority of support for trading for draft picks is what has made it kind of quiet in here more than anything. I know we don't have double 1sts this season yet, but my view is a little more specific. I think we're only going to be in play for lotto picks besides our own top 5 pick. None of this mid/late picks unless it's bought for very cheaply. That's my frame of guessing anyways.

And to do that I think the Magic are going to gamble. They won't pull the trigger on a lotto-type pick deal without the season even started but they will do it very early like around the quarter mark of the season. Just enough to project as strong lottery bound from the Magic side of FO strategy but enough to convince the other side they will improve yet still and the trade returns/dump are worth it. In reality, Hennigan will have gambled right, like Por did to Nj's #6 and will also have some sneaky lack of protections if it's not a Magic-bound pick right away.

With not only the incoming CBA restrictions on spending, I think having the full suite of available vets JJ, AA, BBD, Ayon, Jameer, and Al WITH the largest league TPE AND extra future late 1sts could Potentially have the Magic likewise selecting from a few lotto-bound type pick offers out there, which would greatly increase the Magic's shot at top 1-4 picks.

I don't know how many of you guys actually watched the summer league this year but Liggins didn't allow MarShon Brooks any points, but later in the week Brooks set the all-time record for points in the ORL Summer League. Liggins is good. I'm a big Kentucky fan and I was really excited when the Magic drafted Liggins, but I like Eyenga and Jones too. I really want Harrington,McRoberts, and QRich gone. Then we could sign Liggins and let Eyenga and Jones compete for the final roster spot. Oh and Liggins showed some offense the last couple days of the summer league. He was 4-5 from the field and 1-1 from the 3 point line on day 4.

I do like Liggins as well. He really needs to work on his offense though. He is such a great athlete but doesn't seem comfortable at all on the offensive side of the court. I think the D-League might actually be good for him. That might be the only way he gets enough time on the court.

I just wish we knew what fate Liggins has right now......he's in Limbo with us....i believe he's a Free Agent now....it's a damn shame too because in Summer League he looked great....no reason why someone like Q-Rich is on this roster and Liggins isn't.....oh wait it's because of a sh*tty contract someone gave him.....

i think we could trade him for a 2nd rd pick, and mcroberts might even bring in a 1st round pick. McRoberts and a 1st almost got O.J. Mayo twice.

Jones is not good, he wont come close to making the team, liggins, another player with average skills whose on the outside looking in, doubt he has the chance to make the team, some work in the D-League would do him well

Just wondering, would you rather have a veteran like QRich on this team, or instead take a younger less experienced player who needs work. I have always been a fan of the younger player, some people like the veteran players better though. I think in our situation we should take Liggins,Jones, and Eyenga all over QRich. Same reason I want Harrington out. McRoberts is still young but we have to many power forwards(obviously), and I like Nicholson,Harper,Ayon, and O'Quin better then him. Also I can't stand to look at that haircut the whole season.

I hope, even if we're overrating Liggins/Eyenga/Jones' potentials here, that we send whichever of them out of the Magic roster to the D League Sioux at least.

And he did all of that with some truly atrocious supporting players. When your opening night starter one season is Britton F'ing Johnsen that lets you know the crap he had to play with.
