Although it may be too high, wouldn't count out Portland just moving their pick for a veteran scorer like Afflalo. They could have used JJ more, but Afflalo will do.

McCollum is a much more competent scorer, and the kind that can take over a team. I see him as a Lillard/Westbrook level scorer. And whether or not we take him will depend on how Hennigan projects his ability to convert to a full time PG and floor general (not just a scorer). Given his experience in following Westbrook, I think Hennigan will be well poised to decide that with CJ.

with Harris and McCollum, we would finally have some players who are competent of taking over a game offensively, and we wouldn't need a pure passing PG to play off them, as most offenses generally play off their best players anyway.

Like what you proposed, we would have three first rounders in the case of Minn and Utah trade. 3 first rounders in a week draft. Is 3 first rounders too much for Magic this year?

Read it again and you'll see that I'd like the Magic to end up with FIVE (5) first rounders this year. The truth is this draft is very weak at the top, but there's a a lot of parity in the first round. There are enough guys with enough upside that if you cast your net widely enough, you just might land on something.

haha.....not sure about 5...but still likeable. I feel the same way too. this draft is not top heavy like next years draft is expected....but there is still a lot of talent to be had throughout the entire spectrum. yeah....looking at it...i'm down with 5 :-)

http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/story/_/ ... oward-land

Good article by cap guru Larry Coon on how Houston and Dallas can both potentially make a run at Dwight by clearing a bit of cap. I can personally see the Magic being involved in either scenario. With Houston, we could take on Thomas Robinson and someone like Royce White using our TPE to help them get enough cap room, whereas for Dallas we could take on Carters contract and receive the #13 pick as compesation. An extra move i could see happening potentially is us taking on Andris Biedrins from GSW in return for a future pick.

Are you able to take on multiple players with a TPE (White and Robinson)?

I think it would require two separate transactions, but other than that I don't believe there is a reason we couldn't do that. It's just a technical detail in how the deal is structured.

I don't think I could be happier if we move Afflalo and pick up Dallas' 13th pick and Chicago's 20.

Isn't Hamilton done? In essence you're talking about getting the 20th pick and $5mill in cap space for Afflalo. I think there are better returns for Afflalo out there, I'd pass on this.

The better deal is AA for Rip and Charlottes pick that Chi has a chance to be very high in a year or two, I am not sure on exactly what but its pretty well protected.

I would be shocked if Chicago would give up that Charlotte pick even with its protections for the next two years because Charlotte has the potential to be bad for a long time.

Afflalo's contract is on the slightly negative side - getting a pick in the 20's and clearing cap space is a decent deal IMO.

I wouldn't mind the bulls pick +Rip for AA. Rip would be a great guy to mentor Moe just as JJ did?

Rip has only a $1M buyout of his contract, not sure if that is what Chi would do to get rid of some cap.

I'd love to get the younger Teague from them somehow.

Josh Robbins ‏@JoshuaBRobbins 1m
UCF's Keith Clanton, UF's Erik Murphy and FSU's Michael Snaer will work out for the #Magic today. UF's Kenny Boynton 2moro.

Josh Robbins ‏@JoshuaBRobbins 53s
Remember, the Magic intended to work out around several dozen draft prospects at separate points between the combine and the draft.

I like McCollum and I think he'll do well in the nba. If we can snag him in tandem with a Mclemore or better yet oladipo then that would be a successful draft. Worthy of high-fiving in the war room, not for some scrub named Justin Harper

Ben McLemore, @Humb1e_Hungry23, likely will work out for the #Magic in ORL on June 11, the @OrlandoSentinel has learned.
