I think you cant understate the value of the coaches I think that will be a big factor in what style your team wants to run
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Grinditout wrote:Chet Walker is a good pickup, but I think he was more of a SF than SG when he played. I guess you could use him at SG though.

I like the Stephon Marbury pick, didn't have it all in his head but for a long time averaged 20 and 8.

Yeah, when he played he had the body of a SF, but in a draft like this that spans to modern times, I like his size better at SG. Basketball-reference.com lists his position as Forward-Guard. He was really tenacious and he gave his all for the sport. I loved when I found this:

Chet was one of the premier swingmen of the NBA during his 13-year playing career and his play never deteriorated, but amazingly it ever-improved as he got older

"Walker took a look at the 6-foot-10 Russell and shouted to coach Alex Hannum on the bench, 'I'll murder this guy.' With that, Walker started one of his patented one-on-one drives and Russell fouled. Chet made the free throw and Russell then switched to another man."

Walker's merciless drives to the basket were becoming more and more unwieldy for opponents to handle as his free throw shooting reached William Tell accuracy:

"Chet Walker's 44-for-45 foul shooting spree in four Chicago victories last week has sent the Bulls' veteran to the head of the free throw class, providing the lone change among [NBA] statistical leaders. Walker, who celebrated his 31st birthday Monday, surged past Milwaukee's Oscar Robertson and Seattle's Dick Snyder into the free throw accuracy lead with an .861 percentage…"

"I truly believe the people who manage the Bulls think I'm an idiot — a dumb black man with no pride or principles. I ruined my health for this team, played all last season with a bleeding kidney when the doctors said I could have sat out and drawn my salary…

"When I went into the hospital to get it cleared up, management refused to pay the $470 bill… After all these years in the NBA, they still treat me like a machine — paid a certain amount of money in exchange for forfeiting my rights as a human being."

Not that he had anything left to prove on the court. He left the game as the NBA's ninth all-time leading scorer. In 13 seasons he made the All-Star game seven times. Also, in those 13 seasons his team never missed the playoffs. In 1974, he became just the eighth NBA player to play in 1,000 games and he was proud not of the achievement itself, but of what it symbolized:

"I feel real good about it, because it shows I worked hard and earned my pay… I really had no Idea about the 1,000 games. I'm not aware of records and statistics. I've put in a lot of hours, though and worked hard."

Agreed. Was hoping to do this tomorrow but this guy gets an email saying he's OTC @ 11:55 :x I'll post my pick, and guess we have to wait for commish approval for it to be official?

Gonna go update the picks to reflect this now.

Real talk/ be honest....

Now that the draft is practically over, how many of you drafted reserve players you now think would fit better in the starting lineup and may actually move an intended starter to the bench because of this?

I'm leaning heavily towards moving a couple of guys around, maybe even 3.

And +1000 to the poster who stated the Coach is very imperative to each teams success.

I value having a great coach as much as the roster btw so for example if Keith Smart (I name dropped him cause who's honestly gonna pick him) is coaching that Wilt Chamberlain Rick Barry team that team ain't winnin' jack.

Just letting guys know my stance prior :)

Just realizing that those picks are not all correct. New York owned 185, not 186.

Make sure you guys are really paying attention to the picks that are being moved. Update your sigs to reflect 185 and not 186.

I was sleeping and got a email at 11:55 saying I was next. I expected to do the deal in the morning when I woke up. There was a flurry of picks at the last minute

Pretty happy to get Rashard Lewis at 175. he has kind of changed the game in recent years, being an efficient 3 point machine as a stretch 4. Rasheed Wallace tried to be one, but never as consistently efficient. I can also play Lewis at the 3 for matchup advantages with his size, he was once a very good post up player.

Overall I feel many of my players have position flexibility and can matchup with anyone
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

At this point, I'm not going to be adding any new facets to the game. However, that is definitely something we can do next time around. There are a bunch of tweaks that I will be making and that will be one.

Really? When they first came out, I remember the news coverage and seeing a bunch of people. I waited a bit before I got a pair.

Ok fair enough,

in that case I might be willing to trade one of Hersey Hawkins, David west, andrei kirilenko or George Gervin for the right offer.

I agree, Penny when he was on the Knicks had some great shoes.

Starbury shoes/clothing was huge though for a lot of reasons, mainly the cost. People literally lined up outside of stores for some of the gear.

only losers wore Pennys. Tmacs and Iversons were better but they were never as durable as Starburys.
