It’s tough cos I don’t think Clayton Jr lasts to the Denver pick, so it may be an either or. And I really like both. I think WCJr has some Jamal Murray to his game, and I think Coward has a floor of a Nesmith type and an attainable ceiling of an Anunoby.

But if Den pick + Jett can move us up to land whoever we don’t take at 16 I’d probably pay that.

Well... I dunno... I mean Deshawn Stevenson had a MJ comparison/ceiling when he was in the draft. lol

But seriously, an advantage of OG is he is as strong as a tank and built that way. Isnt Coward more of the middle between tank and lean?

I’m just going off highlights in scouting reports so can’t pretend to know the guy’s game too well, but you know I don’t care much about consensus rankings. Coward looks strong to me, though. Defensively there’s plenty of vision of him getting into a seated position and absorbing contact whilst keeping his long arms up vertically. It just looks like really disciplined stuff, to me.

And his entry passing from the perimeter is a great bonus. If it develops and works out I could see him having some MoJo-like chemistry with bigs.

Just all up a potentially great connector piece.

I’ve been checking film on Coward and I agree he looks really interesting.. both his archetype and upside are intriguing. It would be tough to pass on him at 16. Not sure if he even makes it to 16 at this point though

I'd be ok with us drafting Coward... and I'm out on most wings for minutes reasons.

Personally, I think he is in the 25-2nd round area.

Would fit them so perfectly. Offensively talented but a turnstile on defense and wouldn’t solve any problems them have
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Kalkbrenner would be like drafting the Payton Pritchard of centers.

If we don't grab a center in the 1st and Kalkbrenner slides into the 2nd I would gladly trade both of our 2nds and a future one to move up and grab him. Same goes for Broome for me who seems like he will slip into the 2nd at this point.

Simple ideal draft for me right now would be:

Jase/Clayton at 16

Trade 25 plus whatever for a guard

Draft Kalkbrenner or Broome in 2nd.

That kind of draft day would make me very happy.

this isn't really true...while his lateral quickness isn't the very best.....he's 85th percentile in defensive rebounding and 80th percentile in block rate so he's there in terms of rim protection....he would just have to be in drop more

Really enjoying the Locked On Big Board podcast...this week, interviews with Nique Clifford and Cedric Coward. Both really interesting.

As someone who just hasn't followed college hoops as much as in the past, this podcast is the best info I've found - especially in a year with such a wild disparity in mocks...Coward was really good and a serious dude (until he casually mentioned that "he's a big Subway guy" with no humor  ). Clifford's rebounding is, apparently, a thing...along with everything else he does...the Josh Hart comp is intriguing, along with the discussion of how his game has expanded over the years.

Both guys are physical freaks who have developing games that haven't really applied their elite athleticism yet...that's intriguing.

Yeah .... I would be happy with this selection too. Not the most switchable defender.... But a good one! Mix that with 3 level capability and a winning pedigree. I'm in!

This going to be one hell of a draft ... After the top 2 picks.... All bets are off and it's the wild wild West.

He had a great combine. Lotto talent due to shooting that will slide. An injury suppressed his productivity.

I'm down with "Defense for Offense" but :o

I have kept it open on my desktop (mostly just for easy access to draft positions for my rare trade ideas...they do very little to update. Coward "up" to #36? Raynaud shooting up to #27?

there's an amazing disparity between mocks.
