Admittedly I am a Homer in saying this, but Wisconsin's Jonathan Taylor running behind arguably the best offensive line this year, could crush the season rushing record. If Bucky goes undefeated to the National Championship game, Taylor would play in 15 games. Frankly a 3000 yard season is very obtainable in that. He would this take Barry Sanders' record by some 350 yards.
Of course there would be a HUGE asterisk to the record, given that Sanders did his 2650 in 11 games.
But still one really has to favor Taylor to win the Heisman, if he stays healthy and the Badgers win out.
Looking towards the NFL, I would like to see Taylor do more in the passing game. So far he is exclusively an old school runner. That isn’t the NFL game anymore.
He’s a special runner but will need to add that element to his game to be a special NFL back. I think he can do it. I just don’t think Wisconsin wants to play that brand of football. They are a ground and pound program.
