Whoever fixed Suggs' shot, needs to fix Black's as well. They did not respect it at all tonight.

I think it’s just going to take reps, time and confidence. He has pretty consistent form doesn’t he?

There was just a lid on the rim last night.

I was flabbergasted both at the Hornets’ defensive game plan and also how poorly the Magic took advantage of it.

The Magic are 12-7 despite being one of the worst three point shooting teams in the last decade!

The shooting has to see some positive momentum at some point. I refuse to believe this team is this bad at shooting.

If they just settle in to just being a run of the mill below average shooting team from 3PT, they’ll cruise past 50 wins on the back of this defense.

I don’t see Black as a volume 3 shooter. 3 4 most 3 attempts per game.

With Suggs and Harris out, hypothetically this puts Black is the second scoring option, second play maker. That's tough for a 2-year person. I think he did fine, nobody's shots were falling and it took a run from our 3rd unit to snap out of it. Heck Jett "I can only shoot 3's" Howard was 0-infinity from 3-ball.

I was mostly joking. I think he will be alright. Shooting is pretty simple to fix, just takes repetition.

I think AB is still growing into his body and hasn’t even developed his NBA body yet. Developing his strength and filling out his frail frame will go a long way for him on the court. There is a LOT of baggage with Dwight Howard but what he did with his body was pretty crazy the growth so whatever he did is want him to teach these guys that.

I feel like Paolo being out has hurt Suggs the most. Suggs is best used as a spot up shooter. With Paolo out he is forced to create and shoot off the dribble which is really not his game. Additionally, I feel like Suggs was the one who benefited most from Paolo’s passes.

Suggs hasn’t found his place in the new offense since Paolo went down. His drives are down from 6.8 per game alongside Paolo to 4.8 over the last 5 games. Franz has doubled from 7 to 14 (more or less) per game. Black went from 5 to 8.

When the defense has both Paolo and Franz to worry about then Suggs is going to have an easy time getting back into playmaking, IMO.

He needs to attack more and cut back his turnovers and fouls.

He was looking so promising at the start of the season. What the heck happened?

He was never slated to be a good/great offensive player in his draft profile/analysis. And you could clearly see it in the way he's played over the last 2 seasons now.

His ceiling was to be an average offensive player during his peak. That offensive game of his just needs WAAAAYYY too much work and is too primitive for him to be a starting level offensive in this league right now. It's honestly just as bad as Markelle Fultz from last year.

He'll get better. But man.. he's pretty bad in most offensive skillsets.

He's not good (forget about great) at anything offensively. And if his ceiling is being an average offensive player, why did we use a #6 pick on him? It still boggles my mind.

His shooting has actually regressed this season:

FG%: 41.2 (46.6% his rookie season)
3PT%: 25.8 (39.4% his rookie season)

His assist/turnover ratio of 1.7/1 is also bad.

But I get it, he's only 20 years old and in 6 years he should be mediocre. Woo hoo.

growing pains. there's just something mental in the way right now on offense.
Lack of confidence / hesitation on almost every play lately.
Could very well have began vs Charlotte

I’m still a believer in Black and so are his teammates.

His quality of play is decidedly better this season over last, primarily driven by his playmaking. His defense stays elite. He's not a two-way player yet but he's trending in the right direction.

Appears to me that the aim is to have Black follow the KCP path and then take over within the next 2 years. If that is his floor, then I be happy as half of top 10's don't amount to that much anyways.
