That's the Charlotte blueprint from last season. Draft Ball, stretch Batum, and then sign Hayward.

We have 18M now without our lottery pick(s). How can we get it to 31M? Stretch Harris for how many years by the rule?

Most importantly, who do you want in Free Agency if we do have 31M?
If he's due 20m, I think you could stretch it over 4 years, so only 5m would count towards the cap this year. Not sure who'd you sign tho. It would allow you to make a trade of like TRoss for CJ McCollum, not sure he fits our timeline. Portland may do something like that so they could keep Powell and get some breathing room under the luxury tax threshold.

With our cap space we could straight up trade WCJ or Bamba for Myles Turner. They may ask for a sweetener like the 8th pick. That would end up being like trading Vuc for Turner and a future Bulls pick. Not sure I'd do that. If Indiana would do WCJ and the 2023 Bulls pick for Turner, I'd do it.

I would also favour that trade.

They'd get a 10m TPE in that deal.

I hope to see JI's progress really. But glad to know our rooks are doing the work.

I'm excited to see what they all pull out after this summer... knowing that they will have the opportunity to take the lead. Cole, JI, Hampton, WCJ, Bamba... and BIG CHUMA! they could all make leaps and bounds over the summer.

I don't blame him nor Pelicans.

Pelicans have incredible amount of talented, but very overrated young prospects who don't fit each other at all.
Ingram, Lonzo, Hayes, Zion, Lewis,NAW are are solid to even great, but roster construction makes no sense.
IMo issue is what to do with Zion. He can't play center because their interior defense tends to suck with him ( not suprising, he provides no rim protection ) and if you play C next to him, you just clog paint with 2 complete no shooters like him and Adams were.

Zion needs ball, Ingram needs ball, Lonzo needs ball... and non of them is elite catch&shoot guy.

Very hard to make any sense of that roster in this moment. I would probably move Lonzo for some steach five ( Ibaka? ) and play some better spot up shooter at " point guard" position and play offense through pick&roll of Ingram & Zion. Maybe that would work? Some Seth Curry/George Hill- NAW, Ingram - Zion- ibaka type of starting 5 might provide enough logical offense? I still think they would suck on defense tho.

As for SVG, i really hope Blazers will consider him. He is everything they need. Somebody to keep McCullum & Lillard accountable for defense and in general motivate/ teach whole team how to not be pathetic on defense. The fact that Nuggets without Murray blown by them just to get exposed in second round speeks volumen of how bad Blazers really are ( bad in context of top tear teams...)

ball is an rfa. What the pelicans should do is trade Adams for a spacing rim protector or a pg

I’d consider trading one of the centers for Turner, but at the same time Turner has only 2 of 6 seasons playing 74 or more games and has a career average of 6.6 rpg. Not the most proming for a starting Center. I’d have to sit on it.

If they asked for a draft pick that should automatically end any talks.

Good call on SVG in Portland. That would be a very interesting team to watch.

I think NOLA has more potential than you’re giving them credit for, but your suggested moves fit what I’ve been expecting them to do. Moving Adam’s for a stretch 5 rim protector will be central to them. I think they should keep Lonzo, though, and look to add a gun shooter at the 2 instead.

If Bud is out in Milwaukee then he could be a good coach to help them become highly competitive. Likely won’t get them over the top but he could get them to the next level.

Crazy! I’ve never seen a team make a trade whilst the playoffs were still on.

Presti knows there’s gonna be some steals in the mid 1st round.

If we end up with 5 or 6 and 8, would you trade both of them for either Simmons or Brown?

That and they are certainly going to have the ability to put a package together to move up in the draft if need be.

That's an easy yes. The two draft picks you suggest, neither would lead to a certain-starter. Brown in particular is on a very good deal for his production level.

Jaylen Brown and Tacko Fall(SnT) for Gary Harris, Terrence Ross, #5/6 and #8. That is a very good outcome for Orlando.
