Of course, they could also find deals elsewhere, but you gotta take chances to upgrade team. 4 year window starts next season.

Moe was actually pretty important last year.

There is no free agent this offseason that we can sign with less than the midlevel that would improve this teams bench depth and scoring more then Mo. Portis was one of the few but he is resigned in MIL. I suspect that Weltman will be using our full MLE for both Mo and another target. I think someone like Jones.

If they don’t have anyone lined up and are just going to make their pitch to several guys, Moe could easily return as they retain his bird rights until they actually make a signing with the MLE.
I think we can go over the first apron. It goes by whether you were over the first apron last season and we weren't.

Magic are currently hard capped at the *second* apron.

They will be hard capped at the first apron IF they use their full MLE.

If they don’t use it, they won’t be hard capped.

Negative. If the Magic use the non taxpayer mid level in the next couple of days, it will trigger a hard cap at the first apron.

So we need 4 players and how much do we have?

It depends on whether they use the full MLE or not.

If they don’t use it, they won’t be hard capped and they have plenty of money to bring back Moe and Caleb both.

If they do use the full MLE, they’ll be right up against the hard cap and would need to move money elsewhere (Jett, Goga, Isaac) to bring back Moe or Caleb.

I suspect we use the T-MLE to avoid getting hard capped and then re-sign Moe.

Are you sure that’s how it works? What’s the point of the MLE and Bird Rights? Doesn’t it all you to sign a contract that doesn’t count towards hard cap and bird allows you to sign your own players?

Yes, I am sure.

Any team that uses the non-taxpayer MLE, it triggers a hard cap at the first apron.

So it doesn’t matter if the Magic have bird rights on Moe and Caleb or not, if they opt to use the full MLE they will be hard capped at the first apron.

FYI, Caleb and the Wagner brothers have the same agent (Jason Glushon).

I have a hard time seeing the magic move on from either unless we're lining up another big addition. Mo was a 6MOTY candidate when he went down and Caleb finally showed positive signs of life the second half of the season.
