As for Juzang... lotto? really? Well i knew there would be guys that would raise their draft stocks because of the tourney but Juzang in the lotto? He is late 1st round at best.

Based on what?
He's a 3 level scorer with great size and wingspan, has good athleticism and has shown he's clutch and plays best on the biggest stage against the best competition

He was also a top recruit out of HS, so it's not like he's coming out of nowhere

Yeah, we should draft a guy like AG with all athleticism and no actual translatable basketball skill (kuminga)....

Joking.

But seriously... if you are a “wing” in today’s nba without either high assist numbers or the ability to knock down a shot, you are simply a role player on defense.

I’ll push back a little here on Kuminga having no skill.

He has plenty of legitimate concerns with his jumper, but he did average 4 AST/100 with a 12.2 AST% as I believe the youngest player in the G-League Bubble.

Seems like a foundation of some passing skill at the very least there.

I’m not completely down on Kuminga per se. I think he has skill, but his selling point is his superior athleticism similar to AG.

For me to consider him an full-time wing, with a developing shot, I’d need to see those assist numbers higher. Especially if he’s not stretching the floor. He’s young, like everyone else at the top of the draft, but is he a go-to guy?

Too me that's always been the comp for Kuminga, which makes it weird for us, cause why would we trade AG to draft 18 year AG? If we didn't have Isaac, sure might be nice to team Chuma and Kuminga, but I don't see Kuminga fitting with Isaac and don't even see him beating out Chuma for PT

He was a high-profile recruit who went to Kentucky and just never settled into the right role. UCLA is credited with developing him as an all-around scorer and mid-range shooter, rather than just the 3 pt shooter he was utilized as at Kentucky.

The kid just scores the basketball. Not much of a rebounder or assist man, but he scores. I love him.

that high on him? i'm looking at mocks and big boards around the net and he's not even on most of them....so you must really like him if for you he's a lottery pick while most mocks have him undrafted....must be flying under the radar

After the tourney that's gonna change
I wouldn't be surprised at all if he goes in the lotto
The guy is a flat out scorer and proved he can do it on the largest stage

with the closer college 3 pt line, still only shot it at 35%. but his FT is good, he does seem confident, no shrinking violet on the big stage

I don't like the AG comparison for Kuminga at all. Kuminga has a way more aggressive mentality and demeanor. His handle is much smoother, and his shooting form is on another level of fluidity. He's a more natural basketball player. The accuracy may not be there yet, but he shoots like a shooter and not like someone who wants to be a shooter. That's what AG was... just very clunky in the way he did things. More of an athlete than a guy with a natural basketball feel. With repetition, I believe Kuminga will get there.

DAMN, I did what I didn't want to do... Discuss a Top 5 prospect. Fact is, we're just not gonna be able to draft Kuminga. That's the sad part.

Well, as someone who saw a few games of his while at UK, I applaud that he got better in a new situation. Seeing him before I thought he was a future scrub so this is a nice surprise.

With that said, yes he is a scorer. However for me, he has no defense and his athleticism is average . And as a scorer to be taken lotto, you must have at least one area where you excell over say Keon in his athleticism, Bouknight in his driving game, etc etc

Rank the draft pick order and your picks below. (After #5 Cade/Suggs/Mobley/Green/Kuminga cant be selected)

#1 and #10
#2 and #8
#3 and #6
#4 and #5

#1 and #10. you take your best shot with the best pick on the player you want, not the players leftover. Then take the next swing with #10

Im with you here. Get the #1 and have the luxury of agonizing who to pick rather than agonizing who the team before you will pick.

Also, there are a lot of good players in the 6-12 range so #10 is fine

Character issues. He abandoned his team twice already. Also not a great shooter.

what kind of character issues? REAL character issues or stuff that is resolved with maturity & time?

Same.. either something is wrong between his ears or his "handlers" are giving him crappy advice.

So young but he transferred high school twice or 3x already before "sitting" out to prepare for college. And in Duke, there were rumors because of "something" he had an "injury" which no one could agree on before December and was supposed to sit until draft. He eventually played again BUT when his crappy play ensued, he sat out again to wait for the draft.

He has the skills though. More of a PF than SF. Not fluid or fast enough I think for the NBA SF.. but maybe he improved on it. Draft workouts will tell.

With the Bulls win, their draft pick is:
The Bulls sit as the 9th worst team.

Also as the 10-seed in the East, if the Bulls were to win two play-in games, the Magic would get the 15th pick in the draft. If they were not two win those two games, the pick would be conveyed at a 79.73% chance (that is, there is a 20.27% chance the pick would not convey).

Right now, the Bulls would first play the Pacers then the loser of the Knicks and the Celts. If we assume the Bulls has a 45% chance to win either game, then winning both is at a 20.25% chance.

Taken together, I thus estimate that currently the Bulls pick would convey at a 20.25% + 63.58% = 83.83% . And that would either be at the #15-selection or the #9-selection.

(( 79.75% is the probability the Bulls pick is not the 15th pick - i.e. the Bulls do not make the playoffs - and 79.73% is the odds the Bulls pick does not go top-4 if they fail to make the playoffs = 63.58% ))

23-6 run for the clearly tanking team.

I think collectively this board needs to ease off with this "Team X is tanking!" stuff. Sometimes teams lose, sometimes teams win. It's not always some master plot by the puppet masters in the front office pulling the strings.
