Yeah, I'm confident it's in the bag. Even guys that I've heard whiffling in recent months (Kevin O'Connor of the Ringer comes to mind? Or it might've been Zach Lowe), I've heard say they voted for Paolo in the end. Good to see that despite inefficiency and advanced stats, voters seem to recognize that in the end, Paolo is the rookie that mattered most from this season. It takes a special kind of youngster to even have an offensive package strong enough to be able to handle such a high usage rate without it feeling forced for the most part (not saying that there weren't some stretches where he was forcing the issue a bit).

I saw some NBA news... i think it was the media votes? Probably like 20 voted fpr Paolo with the 1 from Salt Lake City voted for Kessler lol

Banchero is ROY.

I would be shocked if he is not. Imo last year's f**ery will prevent even most idiotic voters from going to most obvious choice.

Kessler was GREAT in his role for the Jazz.

Not even going to pretend he wasn’t, but at the end of the day he played 23 MPG and had a 13.3 USG rate.

Paolo was the focal point of his team’s offense for better or worse (often worse as is the case for most rookies) and he performed admirably in that role.

He’s the ROY. Should be unanimous, but won’t be.

Whatever.

Inconsistent FT shooting
Inconsistent midrange shooting
Poor body language/low effort getting back on defense after turnovers and missed shots when the refs don't call a foul
Lack of effort and awareness as a help defender
Lack of physicality both as a rim defender and rebounder

Yup.. aside from the shooting woes.. those other problems are more of mental/bad habits.
