There are a lot of hate here for Fultz. But have you seen the games he played this preseason? One thing tells me is that Markelle is ready for the season. He is much skinnier and quicker. Dude had the slide I haven't seen him doing at all his entire career. His 3 pt is improving at least from Mechanics standpoint.

To me, he is the starting PG for Orlando Magic this season. I will ride the train with Fultz.

I really hope he is gonna prove all you haters wrong.

Those are his preseason performanes from several years ago

Image

We also had 4-1 record in preseason last year. Hell i think Houston also had great preseason record just to have worst record in regular season ( or one of worst? Can't recall ). ( or on other side of spectrum, Bucks have like 2-13 preseason record in past 4 years  )
Preseason is meaningless basketball, it's friendly game to experiment with backups and to get starters sweat for a quater.

Anyhow, sit back, enjoj. If you can.

We aren't trading him right away, we aren't going to exstend him right away. There are only 3 scenarios left:

1) walk for nothing
2) resign
3) trade

Non of it will happen in next 5 months.

Yes…let’s just have a thread where we talk about how Markelle puts in work and how we’re on the Markelle train. That’s fascinating :banghead:

Such a lazy response to call anyone a “hater” if you don’t like their take on things. Why bother typing? - just skip the thread and enjoy your life if all you want is blind faith…it’s kind of the point of forums, isn’t it?

Plenty of good attempts on all sides of the question…just the “hater” chirping that’s pointless. This country is so divided and hateful because people can no longer consider other opinions without doubling down and getting angry or depressed about public discourse. If someone makes a point, challenge it with facts or concede that it’s true but perhaps not that critical, because…

There’s a good case to be made for Markelle …but it requires some assumptions about him transforming his game. Some of us think it’s unlikely but are still hopeful, some of us think there’s no more time for patience due to our (possible) sudden turn towards relevance and the finances that come with it (that’s a good thing). Some think the time may be right for a trade or extension …isn’t that what Real GM is…trying to think like a GM?

I don’t recall anyone hating Markelle.

I'm in the hopeful camp for Markelle. I want to see him come out and be super aggressive offensively which is counter to his PG mentality and remnants of TOS(in my view.) I think if he can change his mindset to be more of a score first mentality, but to also run and cut - we'll see a much different Markelle, one that we're all hopeful in seeing.

Exactly!! Fultz is one our most graceful athletes on the team and him being aggressive offensively would make our offense that much better! :D

This is where i am as well. All is required is a mindset change. I think Fultz can be an offensive juggernaut but he needs to want it. I don't see a place on this team for him if he deosn't.

I'm going to hold off my full thoughts since it's just preseason but.... He looks like the same player, I guess now he'll attempt an occasional 3? The aggressiveness isn't there

I agree the aggressiveness isn't there with Fultz! He had a lazy pass on top of the key and Zion stole the ball! This is his contract year and he's mentally afraid to be that guy on offense! Such a shame because he has all the skills :(

Honestly the only guy who has potential to be that guy for us is Franz Wagner, he doesn't try to force anything nor take plays off!

I like Suggs, Cole and JI as role players but this roster isn't playoff tested.

1. We don't rebound the ball well AT ALL!

2. Turnovers is irritating

3. WAY TOO MANY unnecessary 3s

4. Personell change is a must, whether it's players and or coaching because playing efficienct basketball is must! We need more high level talent PERIOD!!

I am waiting for the preseason pressure to end and Fultz starting to shoot threes. At least Gary Harris is not disturbing starting unit by passing open shots.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Preseason pressure? For a veteran like Fultz? What kind of excuse for him not being able to shoot a 3 in games is this?

I see nothing has changed in regard to Fultz. Hopefully we find a modern NBA PG by deadline or in FA 24

I'd trade for Luka Doncic if he's available, might have to add Ball Hog Banchero in the deal if necessary!

I would deal Banchero if we could pair Wagner with Doncic. Something like Black + Banchero + Fultz + picks for Doncic.

Markelle is a stud. We just need ourselves a T-Mac. Is that too hard to ask for?

Ok, change the word “hate” to “prejudiced” if it bothers you that much - but that is exactly what it is. I think the reason it bothers you is because you don’t like to admit you’ve closed your mind on a topic before it’s even had time to play out. Just read what you’ve said above:

“There’s a good case to be made for Markelle …but it requires some assumptions about him transforming his game”

Your opinion on Fultz presumes he needs to transform his game for there to be a case for him. What “case”? You mean justification for him being on the court? He has already justified his place on the court with his current game. Having the team play near .500 ball with him as the starting PG justified his place on the court.

It’s clear hate/prejudice because you guys have demonstrated you’ll be unhappy regardless of the result. You don’t think we’ll win games with Fultz at the helm, but then you’re convinced we’ll win games and re-sign him to a long extension. So which is it? Can you see clearly enough through the hate to pick which path you hate the most?

If you don’t like being regarded as a hater, just try not hating on him so much.
