I am coming around to seeing this. We are in Cap hell and I don't know what other team would be willing to help us out.

rdv is gonna pay all that money in luxury tax for nothing. i honestly don't feel bad for him because he's not an involved owner and basically has otis running the show with his money.

Well, I'm still going to enjoy magic basketball whether we're "****" or contenders. Whether Dwight is manning the middle here, or somewhere else. Bad decisions on part of the management are almost as much apart of the game as is the basketball going into the hoop.

Pretty much going to take things as they come, and hate on duhon for as long as time permits =)

@ the people thinking we have a chance at Paul or Deron. Yes.

In fact, we have a GREAT chance.

In fact, we even have a chance at LeBron!

But who would play center after we complete the deals?

Hey fellas,

I was thinking out of some free tme of mine and really haven't been digging through a bunch of pages but what do you think about this: (if hasn't been mentioned)
http://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/5858538

NJ were speaking of (i'd also like one of NJ's 1st's this year). They may have some cap space but they can't couunt on commitment as you see (Melo deal). So a J-Rich deal would allow them to resign him. Remember, their were mumbglins from Otis that "we wouldn't resign him if he we didn't win the chip" kind of thing. Both Murphy and J-Rich are expirings after this season. Though, T-Murph will be far less cheaper and actually compliment Dwight & Ryan better than J-Rich, especially when we have Redick and a capable Q-Rich. We have enough shooters, then a 1st Rd Pick of some sort would be the "cherry on top". Wishful thinking, I know. Seems worthy of a shot in my book though.

The Low Down:

NJ/ORL swap (yeah, again) :

Orlando Magic:

Incoming : PG-Devin Harris + PF/C- Troy Murphy & (1 of NJ's 2011 1st Rd Picks)

NJ Nets:

Incoming : PG-Jameer Nelson + SF/SF Jason Richardson

Folks, tweak, opinionate, whatever your heart desires but do you think NJ would bite? Plus, Harris, Arenas, and Turk handling the ball makes me happy. Murphy spreads the floor, compliments Dwight and spells him when in foul trouble. I think Devin Harris is definately an upgrade over Jameer Nelson which is what helps me want to pull the trigger more. Thoughts?? :)

I dunno, i like devin harris but he doesnt solve any of our problems... We need a slashing sg who can draw fouls and can not shoot the 3 :)

and a big... Plus i dont think trading meer right now is the answer and if murphey gets bought out we might get him 4 free, 2 many ifs on that trade so id pass... But i do think we need to trade JRich ASAP

Btw guys, I honestly thingk we have a shot at Deron Williams and wold bet you Otis would throw everything underneathe the kitchen sink to make it happen. Weisbrod, Otis, & Twardzik all tried to trade down (in 05') to aquire Deron Williams. Yeah, that's the year we drafted ol' "Fran I Ran".

If not a deal like the one above Utah will be in the same boat Denver was just in and I think any team would want ot avoid that at al costs. Cut your losses before you literally go bankrupt.

So, how about this one.

--Orlando/Utah swap--

Incoming (Orl)

PG-Deron Williams + PF/C Mehmet Okur

then..

Incoming (Utah)

PG-Jameer Nelson + SG/SF Jason Richardson (maybe even Fran's rights if we "must" to broker a deal)

We get our leader, he's happy, Dwight's happy. Utah doesn't leave high and dry, as many speculate he'll be gone come 2012. Like Wade flirting with the idea of leaving Miami, he actually ended up recruiting LeBron & Bosh. Maybe Dwight can get this in Deron's head.

Anyhow, AK is a FA so who knows what Utah does with him and J-Rich is too. They can save or stack up which gives them options. Plus, Fran if need be (I think he'll be here 2011, could care less what you think).

Again, Deron is an upgrade in every statistical way than Jameer, he's broad, can run the half court and run. Okur is that BIG who can spread the floor with Ryan and also spell Dwight when in foul trouble. Utah has to do something, why not this? :D

Yeah, I can definately see the pro's & con's of which you brought up. Though I think it's all about the system & players around you. Devin, in my mind (barring injuries) would thrive and would certainly take a load off him where he can be the floor general, that "pass 1st" kind of PG/play maker.

& of course, if Murphy is bought out that'd easily be the the logical choice, but I bet you anything their exploring anyway to rid him by still getting some sort of compensation in return. Wait & see mode on that front.

I like the idea of trading Meer+JRich for Deron+Okur, but if it happens, it will be only in the next trade deadline, IMO.

That statement couldn't be anymore false. RDV isn't sitting behind the Magic bench every night, but he and Vander Weide are both very involved.

At this point, I would be very shocked if a deal is pulled. Talking and getting something done are two different things. The Rockets want a lot for Battier, and getting his name connected to the Celtics will drive that price up. They know the Heat, Bulls, Magic, and even the Hawks don't want this happening.

I'm not going to go into this on here, but I know. Some of the higher ups on this site know.
