I thought this was the speculation thread, not the Rashard can do more than Ryan thread.

We don't have many contracts that expire and they already have an allstar at the pf position so I doubt they want/need Ryan.

J-Rich needs to kick rocks.....Too inconsistent and virtually brings nothing to the table that Redick can't emulate

Goodness, Ellis for Dwight strikes again. They can't get Ellis for Lopez. They need to STFU

Some information refuting the idea Orlando asked GSW about Ellis: from Amick at SI.com-

Yet while there would be even more reason for optimism if the Magic could find some help for Howard, two sources close to the situation said their reported attempt to land Golden State guard Monta Ellis simply never happened. Warriors owner Joe Lacob is obsessed with the far-fetched thought of landing Howard himself, and chances are he wouldn't green-light any move -- even if it was a three- or four-team situation -- that helped Orlando keep Howard. More on the Warriors' front later.

A little Arenas update:

The 30-year-old guard who was amnestied by the Magic in mid-December continues to dominate the rec league ranks, informing me via text message that he scored 42 points on Thursday night -- in the fourth quarter alone.

And he has started up his twitter again, @agentzeroshow_ make sure to include the underscore.

Getting Josh Smith from Atlanta is not going to happen. Why would the Hawks send Smith within the division and also increase the chances that Dwight stays with us.
We are going to have a hard time finding partners, most teams are waiting to pick from the Orlando scraps.
Atlanta will become a top 3/4 team in the east when Horford returns. If Dwight leaves the division they will be setup to climb the standings.
Golden State seems to believe they can beat New Jerseys offer for Dwight and will not make any other trade with us unless we ship them Dwight.

It may be time to consider a partner like Utah who is in a rebuild of there own. Harris, Milsap, Bell, and Jefferson all could help us out if we choose to ride out this season.

rcklsscognition wrote:I was just reading a Ray Allen to the Clippers rumor and checked out Ray. He's 6 years older than J-Rich and is basically the exact same player. J-Rich plays a lot less minutes than Ray and has nearly identical PER. Ray is making 10 million a year, J-Rich will be making 6 mil per. J-Rich shoots slightly worse from 3 over his career (nearly identical this year) and slightly less from the field. I think J-Rich is on a great deal and he is definitely very trade able either this year or next.

I was thinking the same thing. Orlando should offer them Jrich just to free up cap space. Two trades I was thinking might work are:

Trade #1
Orlando sends: Jrich and q-rich
Orlando receives: R Foye and tpe for q-rich

Or

Orlando sends Jrich
Orlando receives Foye

Personally I prefer the first trade as it rids us of two contracts for an expiring deal but would do the second deal if we could dump salary in other trades. The issue is Otis has never made a plan of how to go about changing this team. He really has three options, trade Dwight, trade anything and everything other than Dwight to bring in a superstar, or make trades to clear as much cap space as possible to go after another superstar in free agency. Unfortunately, he is just reacting to what's going on around him instead of proactively making a plan and implementing steps to accomplish that goal throughout the whole season. Now he's got less then two weeks to pull a miracle. No matter what happens, even if we do something to keep Dwight, he should not be allowed to continue as gm once this season has ended.

Big Baby Davis will be harder to move maybe Cleveland will take him.
Orl out BBD, JJ
Orl in Jamison
Maybe Cleveland sends back our 2nd round picks

This trade will erase our bad off-season and help our next GM get cap space to work with.

Would anyone on here be opposed to going after a player like Demar DeRozan from Toronto? I know he is not a superstar but is on a cheaper contract and could help shed some salary

starting to believe that no one wants to help us....maybe they're refuting the report because we tried and we can't find a third team to make it work so this could be a way to spin the media to save face.....but a darker thought crossed my mind....maybe all of this is just a ploy by Dwight....giving us a "Chance" a chance how? all i see Dwight doing is asking us to perform the impossible....so that at the end of the day when he leaves he can save face and say he gave us a chance but we couldn't get him any help.....hope that's not the case though....

He is "the next MJ" to Toronto fans. I'm pretty sure the Raps management feels the same way... but yes, I would definitely take him.

Why do Warriors think they can realistically get Dwight?

Anyone else feeling confident about Jameer either staying with us or being a decent trade chip? The last few games have been really good for him. .406FG, .412 from 3, 4.3 rebounds, 7.7 assists, 1.7 TO, 11.7PPG.

Assist to turnover 3rd best in the league since returning from the concussion.

Return to Orlando Magic
