According to Woj, any trade we make with LA is contingent upon Bynum signing an extension with us.

What's the stretch option involve? Do you have to waive the player?

Fans should just make life hell for Hedo or MWP next season so that neither player wants to exercise their player option.

And if motivated (which I think he will be as the centerpiece of team)....I think he steps up his defensive intensity. Dude had 10 blocks in a game. Not exactly terrible. He's also a monster (which is why he often played Dwight decently) who can be very physical, which shouldn't be overlooked. What I don't get is everybody talking about this "salary dump". How exactly are you planning on doing that? The Lakers are in the tax, so they can't absorb any more salary than we can give out really and they have no great expirings...including Hedo I suppose would be nice, but remember salaries have to come close to matching so it really doesn't save us anything, and he is only $6 mil guaranteed next summer. Everyone acts like he has some Joe Johnson type contract...
I'm not sure about 30-15 but I definitely think Bynum could put up the best numbers since Yao as the #1 option. Like 25-13.
I consider his attitude a nonissue. He is 23 years old and is the most offensively gifted center in the league yet he has to watch Kobe shoot 30 times a game. Not sure how many other players with Bynum's abillity and potential at his age would be able to put up with that.
Brian Shaw could work some magic with Bynum too.

If the deal with the Lakers goes down - I think it includes Dwight, Hedo, and Jrich.
In return:
Bynum
Metta
S&T Ebanks
Draft picks

i wouldnt mind that trade.
metta is psycho...ebanks is solid..draft picks will help.
bynum is one of the best offensive bigs in the game. i think kobe was hindering his stardom. he's finesse in the paint and takes time...can hit freethrows. we did well without a center against the pacers... if this deal goes down..we just need to go after an iggy or monta and we'll be back in pretender status making it to the semifinals and a toss up from there.
Work Hard

personally i will take bynum if not for any other reason than the fact that it will keep dwight out of brooklyn...if he ends up getting what he wants when all is said and done then it is awful for the magic and the nba as a whole. At some point a team needs to stand up to these superstars trying to control everything. just my thoughts....

Eff the Lakers and eff the Nets. Trading Howard to either of those teams is just bending over and taking it from the NBA.

Maybe, if we get a decent pg. I am not so enamored with him, but i don't hate the idea.

Yes, you've made that clear... like 100 times. You can stop now, we get it. I'm sure you will have more to say if he ends up coming here, so save it until then please.![]()
I agree that he's done some bush-league moves in LA and his attitude isn't the best, but people can learn/change. He's only 24 and that's much different than a 30 year old making those mistakes. I think he'll be alright as he matures and once he learns how to channel his frustration.
Well heres my biggest problem with that thinking, hes been in the NBA for 6 years and still making those same childish mistakes, and thats with guys like Phil Jackson, Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol there to mentor him, what is he going to do when he comes to a team like this, that has no leaders and most likely a rookie head coach, who is going to keep him in check and help him grow as a person? Do you really think hes going to stop acting like a childish goon when he has free reign to do whatever he wants?
If he didnt listen to phil jackson, what makes you think he will listen to phils assistant or a rookie Mike Malone?
He came into the NBA at the age of 17, he's been hampered/frustrated with injuries for much of his career, and he's remained in Kobe/Gasol's shadow for years. I think all of these have stunted his ability to mature the right way in terms of mental health. So while I get your assessment, I believe he has plenty of room to grow, learn and mature on a NEW team. He's 24, but I think his mind is more like 19-20. Who knows, he may just be an a$$ for life, but I'm not writing him off just yet.
