Horrendous trade and it has sucked the life out of our franchise.

we will see where philly is in 2 years. i bet money we will be having a better long term future than them.

no the trade didn't suck the life out of the Magic, Otis and Howard sucked the life out of the magic, the only way to fix it is to blow it in place and start again, the trade was a beginning of the blowing it up process

Please elaborate on how "this trade has sucked the life out of our franchise."

Leave it to a team like Magic fans not to know what it takes to win a title and love this pathetic trade.

I'd be willing to draft a guy with Bynum's ability. I'd pay max money for a guy with Bynym's ability. I wouldn't dedicate a new max contract with maximum years to a guy with Bynum's injury history. Not when he'd be the guy you build around.

You say we got useless draft picks instead of Bynum. We didn't choose draft picks, we chose flexibility. We trade for Bynum, we're pretty much deciding the new era of the team right then. If Bynum didn't have his injury history, I'd be down for committing to him and building around him. But with his injury history, I'd rather just start from scratch. Both are pretty risky, but at least starting from scratch, you remain flexible if we don't find our guy soon. Eventually we will. If things go wrong with Bynum, whether it be injury of him not being able to carry the load we'd need him to, then we're debilitated.

Bynum wasn't going win us a title, if he was so great why would the lakers even think of trading him, Now dont tell me the Lakers dont know how to win titles.

You're acting like there isn't a chance that you can get a bust via the draft. There are odds in everything.

I guess everyone is entitled to their opinions but IMO Jrue/Turner/Young/Bynum is a young core to be jealous of. Especially looking at our own roster and realizing our core is Affalo/Harkless/Nicholson/Vuvecic.

The Magic are definitely going to regret trading with LA and not getting Bynum back.

Ypu got Harkless...an unproven rookie as an asset or could have got a 20 and 10 center as a center. Its not rocket science....the Magic GM should be fired.

Yes, because making a move which results in having to face a Dwight-led super team in the east for the rest of the decade would be smart... all that for... wait for it... wait for it... brook lopez! That's pure stupidity. That spurs fan is just angry that San Antonio's window is officially closed after LA's latest upgrades.

You silly kid. The Magic would have got Lopez who the Bobcats and Portland wanted on a max contract...plau Marshon Brooks who is way better than Harkless...plus 4 UNPROTECTED 1st round picks but you took 3 PROTECTED 1st round picks...LMAO Not to mention the Nets would have taken Hedo's and Durons contracts. lol Magic look like a big giant joke

Lopez sucks, and we wouldnt of gotten anything useful for him from either of those teams

Id take harkless all day over that scrub brooks

and what difference does it make if their 3 picks (4 was a lie, it was 3) were unprotected, they who of come of the next 6 years and would be in the 26-30 range anyways, no point in being "unprotected"

But youre also forgetting about a couple things, Afflalo is better than any player we would of gotten in from the nets, we got a project C who was drafted high last year which we wouldnt of gotten from the nets, we got another tradeable PF in harrington who should net us another draft pick, but the 2 most important things, we didnt give in to dwights dream trade and we didnt create another super team in the east. Not that we have to worry about winning a championship for a while, but why create that team in our own conference??

But go ahead and keep crying about a team that doesnt matter to you

i think the lakers were ready to get rid of bynum after he started to chuck threes that one game. dude is supremely gifted and supremely immature. his knee problems started from his teens so it WILL ALWAYS be an issue in his life. i for one do not want to go through grant hill 2.0. bottom line is that we shall band together and go through the growing pains with this team because it will be that much sweeter when its our turn again.
