The problem, IMO, is that Afflalo's value lies higher with teams that are contenders and need a great 3rd/4th option to push them over the edge (think Caron Butler x 3) - where a 12-18 pick + a young, but not amazing talent might get it done.

That's where I think Afflalo's value lies. Some teams it just wont work out with, Bobcats are one of them. Don't think you'd want to part with a young player besides Biyombo and 9 might be a big high depending on who may drop there.

sorry for saying the wrong zeller and getting cody confused with the better brother
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

#9 – Charlotte Hornets
Zach LaVine UCLA SG 6’6″ 181 19
This is likely really high for LaVine, but if there is a team that might take the gamble on the best athlete in the draft it’s likely the Hornets. There is a real chance this pick ends up with someone else. The Hornets have eyes for Orlando’s Arron Afflalo and if some combination of the ninth pick and a roster player gets the Magic off the dime the Hornets would do it.

I really think that AA+#12+asset r enough for us to move up

#8 or #9 should be obtainable

If vonleh (or maybe Gordon) r there, you have to pull the trigger
Suggs, Tyus, Jase
Bane, AB, Jett
Franz, TDS,

uh oh.....

When a selection is made with the ninth pick, however, Charlotte might no longer have it. A team called Wednesday asking the Hornets if they’re willing to part with their picks. They are.

Would you rather have a rookie or 28-year-old Aaron Afflalo? A 6-5 guard, Afflalo averaged 18.2 points for Orlando this season, hitting 45.9 from the field and 42.7 on three-pointers without anybody noticing.

Could the Hornets trade the ninth pick to young and developing Orlando for the veteran?

Unless Vonleh is there, which I highly doubt there is no way I'd trade Afflalo to skip 3

These Hornets/Bobcats fans are doing some major overvaluing of their talent. This is what happens when a team makes the playoffs in a tanking year.

I dont want to see us trade Afflalo for #9 but it would be pretty funny to see their reactions when they realize that Afflalo is worth a little more than the diffrence between #9 and #12.

Magic Fans booed Penny Hardaway. Sad but true, fans are often not very educated on the issue.
