Wow. Butler is good but that is A LOT!

May as well go for it now if you're Houston. Had GSW on the ropes last season. Harden in his prime, CP3 in the tail end of his prime. You never know when your window could suddenly close in this league.

Sound panicky to me. I just wonder why it's not done if they really offered 4 firsts. No one will offer more.

If they land Butler and Warriors split ( option after this year ) , they would dominate nba for years.
Later that first rounders could back to bite them, but we talk about what ? 2024 ? by that point they could potentially win 2 rings ( or more ).
Butler and Harden are 29, they have at least 3,4 great years in them.

Lue was actively making them worse.

He was giving four guys over 30 in their rotation playing time over young guys in what was clearly a lost season. Beyond that Lue was encouraging guys like Rodney Hood (who is absolutely terrible) and others to take midrange shots at the expense of three point shots.

It's ok to be bad when you don't have talent, but you gotta have a plan to tank appropriately too and it ain't playing 2005 basketball with veterans.

Surprised Lue was not fired the day Lebron signed with LA since Lue was put in that position to appease him.

Just realized we get Cavs second round pick if it's more favorable than ours.

INK

1) Magic Traded • rights to Jake Layman to Blazers for • 2019 second round pick
I cannot fully grasp who is trading what. But if it is the Cavs pick to Orlando, that could easily be #31 or #32 in the coming draft.

2) Knicks Traded • J.R. Smith • Iman Shumpert in a 3-team trade with Cavaliers, Thunder for • Lou Amundson • Alex Kirk • Lance Thomas • 2019 second round pick (from Cavaliers)
This swaps Orlando's second to the Knicks for the probable #31 or #32 in the coming draft.
Is the same trade as above?

3) Grizzlies Traded • Courtney Lee • cash in a 3-team trade with Heat, Hornets for • P.J. Hairston • Chris Andersen • 2018 second round pick (from Hornets) (#41-Jarred Vanderbilt) • second round pick (from Heat) (protected #41-60 in 2017, unprotected in 2018) (2018 #46-De'Anthony Melton) • 2019 second round pick (from Heat) (protected top 55) (?-?) • 2019 second round pick (from Hornets)
Is this the Hornets pick to Orlando?

4) Magic Traded • rights to Jarred Vanderbilt to Nuggets for • rights to Justin Jackson • 2019 second round pick (less favorable of Nuggets (protected #56-60), Wizards picks; if Nuggets pick is less favorable but falls within protected range, then Wizards pick)
So Orlando has Denver's pick that will go to New Orleans?

Lot's of chaos to sort out in all these second round picks.

In the span of 24 hours, 2 Cleveland HC’s are canned. Jackson and Lue.
