God I wish our front office could be more like OKC. Those guys aren’t sitting around on their hands doing nothing, you wanna win you get aggressive and make moves to win.

This is their first transaction that values current value over future value.three3d wrote:God I wish our front office could be more like OKC. Those guys aren’t sitting around on their hands doing nothing, you wanna win you get aggressive and make moves to win.

Its time for them to win. Their star player was 2nd in nba voting.
Paolo just made allstar last year.
No need to skip steps.

OKC fans were lamenting all season how they didn't sign any capable bigs behind/with Chet and that's with a better team than us last year lol. They were willing to see how their team as constructed went, even though they had a legit shot at the WCF/Finals.

Yea they aren’t playing around they know what they have and what they need and are going after it. Something tells me we will spend half of next season still trying to figure out what we have and what we need based off how we used AB and figuring out what his roll will be.

They finished with their evaluation. They know what they have and who their opponents are. Western Guards ( JA , Kyrie , Murray , Luka, Ant etc ) are gonna kill them unless they have someone to slow them down in waves.
Now they just need big bodies for the Jokic , KAT , AD, etc

Wonder if they are going after Hartenstein or drafting a center at 12 next

Keeping the roster mostly the same has been the right thing to do and we've improved every year. Only misstep was keeping Fultz but the rest of the team was very helpful in different moments of the year. Hell, even Fultz did okay at times and was okay in the playoffs.
Now is when we need to be smart with tinkering/additions.

Fultz has a solid season before this year. Him being injured the entire year was why he wasn’t helpful.
Were you going to cut Fultz and eat the money?

Fultz sucked even the years prior. It was clear his shooting was never coming back. And that not gonna work at all when your star players need the lane to operate.

Going into this year was the correct move, imo, but once his injury occurred and hitch came back, that was when choices could've been made to pivot. I understand why they didn't, out of respect to Fultz and he still added some things our other PGs can't do, but that is one that could definitely be debated, the rest way less so.

i think they draft Cody at 12. Replaces the wing depth after moving Giddey.three3d wrote:RookieStar wrote:fendilim wrote:Its time for them to win. Their star player was 2nd in nba voting.

They need an experienced player to give a bigger role. Its rare to have rookies contribute to a championship caliber team.

I keep saying that they dont need a big C to pair woth Chet.. they need a bruising PF like WCJ to pair with Chet. Can bang with the bigger of the opponents bigs and can let Chet block the shot.

A banger that doesnt camp inside the paint and can guard the quicker opponents big? Sure.
But isnt Hart on the mold of the Goga,Val,Vuc type of big in that he is a plodder?

Hypothetical question:
So Lavine has 3/145 left on his contract. If you were in the Magic front office, would you even consider a deal where Lavine is literally traded to the Magic for NOTHING in return. Literally just a dump of contract for Chicago, and absorbed into capspace for the Magic.

I just can't imagine paying Lavine more than MJ ever made in a year.
The fact that the Bulls did makes it both laughable and sad.
*Edit - Yes, I know it's because I'm old and the state of revenue.
It just doesn't seem right to me. I saw Jordan play...
