I was hoping for something closer to the 25 mil range, but after the numbers for Jalen Green & Trey Murphy came in, I'm not surprised he got 30 mil

Got about what i expected, and im all for it

Got our big 3 for a while (im assuming Paolo will be signed the minute he becomes eligible) and got the role players to put around them

Havent been this excited for a magic team since the penny\shaq days!

Does signing Suggs to a 5 year deal take away the ability to sign Paolo to a 5 year extension?
Not changing this Sig until the Orlando Magic win a championship (Technically Started 1-30-08)

Zero chance. Paolo will get max.

He should get around 15% of the salary cap. Like 24-25M AAV.

He's probably going to be around 20% of the salary cap. Like 32-33M AAV.

Ultimately I’m ok with 5 years for 150 million. The salary cap will increase each of the next 4 years given the new TV deal.

Pretty close to right.

Congrats to Suggs. I’ll stay consistent and say it is an overpay but at least the core is completely locked in now. Paolo will be getting his full max the second it becomes available too.

Lets be real. It's an overpay in the eyes of the rest of the league.

It's probably not for Orlando considering what Suggs means to this team.

If Suggs is an overpay I'd hate to hear your take on Franz!

I'm excited for Suggs because of his heart and determination! I still think he's better coming off the bench as a 3 and D guard with high intensity on this championship team! :D

Interesting:

Franz and Suggs locked up for 6 seasons
WCJ and JI locked up for 5 seasons
KCP, Cole, and Goga locked up for 3 seasons
Moritz, Caleb, Cory, and Gary locked up for 2 seasons

Paolo, AB, Jett, and TDS on rookie scale contracts

Moritz, Caleb, and Cory are the most vulnerable, not considering Two-Way guys. We'll sign Paolo next offseason and then I expect we'll start seeing player movement.

Happy for the guy and glad that this isn't hanging over the season and we can just focus on balling out. It does feel like both Jalen and Franz are making about 10% more AAV than they probably should, looking at other recent contracts. Hope it doesn't come back to bite us.
