But I'd be thrilled to end up drafting Suggs and Kispert with out two picks. Suggs taking a lot of heat, draft stock plummeting...to 3rd

I think it’s such a massive overreaction to the results of these games. Any team that doesn’t take Suggs because of this one game are idiots.

I have a hard time believing that a team would pass on him because of it and would be shocked if he doesnt go top 3

For me.
Then anyone but Mobley.

I wouldn’t shed a tear if we got Mobley but I’d understand if people wouldn’t want us to rely on a center again. I’d rather have one of the wings. The guy that worries me is Kuminga.

yeah, Baylor guards are 2 juniors and a senior and Suggs as a freshman went toe to toe with them.

Yeah. He is the only freshman left from the picks and he went fearless at those upperclassmen known for their defense. Suggs carried his team on his back. However, there is only so much you could do.

Krispert and Timme's stock got hit..big time.

Don't be.. some team will even take Suggs #1. Kispert though... I think he goes mid-teens. He is a plug and play need kind of pick. No real upside..what you see is what you get. So if you are a team that needs 3pt shooting to free up your inside or prevent teams from double-teaming, you draft him for that alone. If you need a reliable scorer, play defense, etc etc you dont pick him.

1. Cunningham
2. Suggs
3. Green

Is where I'm at still. And I'd be willing to trade up for any of them if the Magic don't hit the lottery.

We will all see what will happen during the draft workouts/combine/interviews and etc right?

I mean all our projections could change in a hurry with some bombshells like:

1.) Cade's athleticism is really below average and he thinks the earth is flat
2.) Suggs has a lingering injury which requires surgery and might miss most of his rookie year
3.) Green's interview shows that there is nothing between his ears
4.) Kuminga is really just 6'6 and wants to play with the ball in his hand most of the time
5.) Mobley is stick thin and his body physique means he cant gain more muscle mass and wants the bright light of LA
6.) Barnes shooting motion makes Ben Wallace look like Reggie Miller
7.) Moody stays another year
8.) etc etc etc

Would the office trade Fultz plus our Bulls pick to move up in draft?

It's such a top-heavy draft, I'm just not sure what it would take. The Barnes, Moody, and Kispert's of the world didn't help themselves whatsoever with their tournament runs. There is such a stark drop-off after the first 5-6 picks I can't envision a team in that range wanting to move back even if it did include a couple of picks.

Obviously, teams have done it in the past, but it's generally hard to move up into a top 5 that is unanimously considered strong like this one is. You could have done it in last years draft. The Mavs did it in 2018 but they had a top 5 pick to begin with, && it still took another 1st.

Sure, I'd be willing but it's hard to determine the asking price. I'm not sure how valuable teams will consider a Chicago pick if it lands in the 9-14 range.

I would trade Fultz and our pick to secure one of the three guards in the Top 5. Come to think of it I’d trade him and our pick for Mobley too.

We can’t go into next season with all our role players plus two role playing rookies unless we are just trying to stockpile assets.

I think we all agree we need a alpha piece soon to help steer us in some direction roster building wise

that's assuming that anyone would be stupid enough to trade out of this top 5

most teams already have their lead guard ironed out. No one would take Fultz off an ACL injury with a new extension. May cost the Bulls pick to trade him. He has waaaaay more value to us than to anyone around the league.

Everybody's got a price.

The Magic have 3 extra first round picks, 2 extra second round picks. They have a 17.15M TPE that they can use to absorb salary. They have a very capable veteran bench scorer on a reasonable contract in Ross. They have some young guys who they could part ways with for the right guy.

There's plenty of avenues to move up if the Magic deem someone worthy.

I don't think there will be many avenues in this draft, but I could be wrong. I expect no movement within the top 5.

Same.. if you are in the top 5 you guard that spot like a dragon guard it's hoard.

I mean MAYBE I can see a top-5 giving up a ton to move to a top-3 only if the top-3 feels that the player they want can be had in the #5 as well

The more I watch Cade the more his game separates him from everyone else. It really is such a mature game, and that of someone who’s just built to lead a team.

With Chuma, Isaac, WCJ and Bamba already filling the front court well, we would have to run Cade as a wing who defends the weaker of the SG and SF and Chuma/Isaac picks up the other.

Offensively, we’d have Chuma and Cade who could alternate and punish the defensive mismatch. Post up smaller wings trying to guard them and blow by the bigger ones.

Kispert demonstrated why I don’t believe he’s someone we should target with our Bulls pick at all. He was abused on defense. Baylor guards saw easy money whenever they switched on him. Alot of better choices we can make at that spot (7-10) while signing someone who will be just as good shooting but can keep up with players on defense.

Yeah, that's why I'm gonna insist on talking about players outside of the Top 5. The more research I do, the more I come to peace with the idea. I really like this dude.

If Keon can improve his range, he could emerge as a top player to come out of this draft class. Just might take time... or might not ever come... that's part of the fallout when not picking in the Top 5.

Same, he's not a quick trigger guy. I'd be happy with Quentin Grimes in Round 2. He's going 39 in nbadraft.net. Our pick is 34.
