When you go from the second option on a bad roster to the fifth option on a good one you might have more opportunity to surprise people.

AG having a big game isn’t shocking. It’s more of an indictment of how much pressure Jokic and Murray put on defenses. AG stepped up when Jokic was out of the game.

Whitmore looks like this AG…maybe we should draft Whitmore, anoint him the next Paul George, complain when he’s not, then trade him to a good team with a realistic plan for him. Then we could watch a very limited Whitmore physically dominate lesser mortals in a limited role and wonder why he couldn’t do it in ORL.

Kind of like “Scotty Barnes is a PG”… :banghead:

I think the biggest problem for AG in Orlando is that their was no Joker, Murray and Porter (to a lesser extent) on the team that allowed AG to play to his strengths and be a role player. By the 3rd or 4th year it was quite clear what AG was but the Magic's terrible lack of talent he had to be the guy and honestly AG probably thought he was that guy.

Great game from Aaron. Well done Nugs.

How? Wasn't it Harris, Hampton, Bol, and first round pick for AG? That seems about right for the role that AG has been given.

no, Bol wasnt in that trade.

Thank you for the correction, I just don't know how much more you give for a 5th option who plays best beside an MVP.

AG flourishing in the finisher/energy player role is not surprising. That's what was meant for him given his athleticism, frame, and limited skillset. He went to the best possible team he could have to take advantage of his ability. It also helps a ton that this Miami team is really tiny, he just towers and overpowers whoever gets switched on him, making him a super easy target for Jokic who is a passing savant. Lakers have size and gave AG problems, this series he is licking his chops with the Maimi dwarfs. As I said last week, congratulations to Denver on the title, well deserved, they are the best team in the league.

Yeah... even Bam on MIA looks the same or smaller than AG. He is feasting.

AG 5th option? WTF? He is clrealy the 3rd best player on this team. And getting a fairly young but experienced player in GH and 2 late first round picks /Hampton has played half a season so he had the value of a pick with unknown potential/ is a fair trade for me.

Offensively, from a statistical perspective, he is the 4th option. He takes the 4th most shots on the team and he avg the fourth most pts on the nuggets. But I think what people mean when they say AG is a 5th option is that he is not being asked to do what he did in Orlando which is to create for himself and others. He definitely is not doing that in Denver. He is pretty much does the dirty work in Denver. Most of his shots are shots inside created by others. There is video on the JJ Reddick podcast about how AG just sits in the Dunkers position waiting for the ball. If you are saying he is the 3rd best player on the team due to what he does on the defensive end as well I could understand that. If you are saying he is the 3rd best offensive weapon, I completely disagree.

AG himself talking what he does best when playing with Murray and Joker around 7:30 mark.

In this Denver team AG is a 4th option, sometimes 5th. However this series Porter the 3rd option is playing awful, hard to say as to why as he has a mismatch with every guy that tries to guard him, so AG is using the size advantage on this tiny Miami team and making them pay, but essentially doing it as a finisher. AG had one good game in the LA series, the last one, before that they were leaving him open on the perimeter and he couldn't get as easy inside because they have more size than Miami. In the Suns series he was really pedestrian.

Yeah, for a guy his size Porter has a very limited inside game and stays out on the perimeter so he doesn't take advantage of those mismatches. So when he is off from the outside like he is now he is pretty useless. It's a good thing AG is covering for him this series.

FVV declined his player option and will be a FA, got to imagine he'll get a fair amount of interest

Gary Trent Jr. also has a Wednesday deadline to opt-in to his $18.6M contract for next season or become an unrestricted FA.

Rumours of a CP3 for Harden swap.

This would force Houston to throw big money elsewhere. Kyrie and FVV are rumoured to be top priorities.

So happy to see Jokic and Murray win. Such an easy tandem to love. So happy AG was a part of it. Congrats to them and the Denver franchise for finding an MVP in the 2nd round!

So happy for the nuggets! Love to see another franchise get their first championship. Give me hope for us
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

AG NBA CHAMPION!

Great story for Denver this year and absolutely deserved it, loved the low scoring, grind it out final game as well, they really earned that win
