Came down between two coaches for me, ended up going with Chuck. His ability to manage ego's, come up with ever changing strategies and his preference for substance over style fits well with this team.
Jazz: Under reconstruction, we'll be back.

This is really so silly. Are you thinking that people should bypass taking on an all time great coach because of fit? Players make coaches. Coaches adjust to the strength of their players. In a draft where we draft our teams BEFORE selecting a HC, it matters very VERY little on who the HC is. If Stan Van Gundy were coaching MJ/Pippen or Kobe/Shaq would've been off the board by now too.

yes schematics matter, if you have a defensive team, why would you take an offensive coach? if you have a team with great bigs, why would you pick mike d'antoni?
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

I think Auerbach is a great coach for my team. He's a players coach who knew how to coach each player differently. His emphasis on teamwork, defense, and fundamentals would be a perfect match for any set of players. Especially when you consider his ability to mentor players. Look how many HOFer's he's coached, and some of those went on to be HOF coaches. Even as a Gm he had an impact on guys like Bird, and McHale.

Edit: Here's one vid on him teaching defense...of course you can follow links afterwards which have him teaching guys like Bird, Dr J, etc other things too...

I think u need to have a good balance my thinking on Riley was I want this team to play uptempo with Stockton worthy and even Robinson who ran the floor very well for a big guy and to defend and rebound and dump it to the post players and cutters in half court Riley in my eyes was perfect fit
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Riley is a good fit for any team. He proved that he could win with any style...Fast paced, defensive minded, or balanced...he's done it all.

Don't forget he coached the early 90's Blazers that played against the Bulls in the Finals as well and that team was much more physical than those 00's Kings teams so he's very versatile style-wise.

I guess it's because it's the weekend...not many people by the computer. I bet we will have more picks later tonight than we did all day. Hopefully we can finish this off tomorrow and start pimping on Monday.

sorry for Being On Vacation and then we had 2 dogs show up that appeared to have been dumped atleast half a mile away from us and they came over and were hungry and flea ridden. still puppies. so i had to go out and get some food for them as well as give them a flea bath so they wouldnt be so anemic.

It's cool, bro...never called you out or anything. Just said it was a slow day. Sorry it was a rough one for you, despite being on vacation. Hopefully tomorrow is a more enjoyable one for you.

the 2 puppys are pretty well behaved. its hard to find a place where im at that will take them. one might be a Pit but she aint aggresive or nothing. i know who i should contact but i dont see them being a realistic option given when i leave to go home.

Yeah...as far as the pick goes, I'm not a fan. I see Lenny Wilkens as accomplishing a rare feat...being heavily overrated as both a coach and a player.

no. Wilkens is the 2nd winningst coach in NBA History and won like 70% of his games. it doesnt hurt that he has Experience coaching on the Dream Teams Coaching staff and then winning gold by himself the next olympics. he wasnt my 1st choice. 1st choice was riley.... 2nd choice was Red.

I think Wilkens has or at least had the dubious distinction of being the all time wins and losses leader.

He won 53.6% of his games...and 44.9% in the playoffs.

...and further, in 32 NBA seasons as head coach, he only won 70% of his games twice (70% & 69.5% rounded up to 70%).

Compared to someone like Auerbach who did it 8 times in 20 seasons, Jackson who did it 11 times in 20 seasons, and Popp who did it 11 times in 17 seasons.

u can Void Jacksons Crap. i mean hes had MJ and Pippen in Chicago, Kobe and Shaq in LA. he actually wasnt even the best Coach on the team to be honest. the only reason he looked good was his Talent around him was good.
