Re: The Trade Thread II
Payton does not have a pick and roll game. We likely are looking for a new PG that does.

Re: The Trade Thread II
Wouldn't that require a big that doesn't just pop (Vuc) or that doesn't have hands of stone (Biyombo)?
IIRC, Payton and Dedmon worked decently in that regard and it's not like Dedmon had much better hands than Biyombo.

Re: The Trade Thread II
I think we'll be running Pick and roll to Gordon more often. If we don't trade for a PG, I also think that Ross will run some 2/4 pick and roll to him.

From listening to him talk it sounded as though forces outside of his control prevented it from going through. He wouldn't comment on the specifics, but he seemed to be irked at an agent.
Divac got Fegan'd. He admitted to some that the deal he had 2 days prior was sabotaged by an agent and that team pulled their offer.
Yeah. I think Fegan was trying to block a trade in an effort to keep Cousins in Sacramento so he would still be eligible for the new super-max.

Payton has a PnR game, he just doesn't have a rolling big man. As SOUL said, he did just fine with Dedmon last year. Biyombo has been disappointing as a rolling big (although he and Augustin have had 1 or 2 good nights).

Re: The Trade Thread II
Rumours sound like Drummond will end up in Boston in the end, so I guess it doesn't matter after all.
Maybe we can get in on a 3 team deal?

Hell no to Rivers! Blake is good (is he even a building block anymore though?), but I'd rather have Gordon, Payton and Mario as lackluster as they've been.
Do not max Vuc!

Im sorry but what?
the absolute best case scenario for AG, if everything goes right and we get super lucky is he turns into Blake, and mario doesnt look like he will ever even be as good as Rivers (one of the saddest things ive had to admit to myself sportswise), with that said, I would see if they would be willing to swap JJ and Rivers, but even if they didnt, if that was a realistic offer, we would be complete idiots not to do it, assuming blake was willing to sign here for the long term.
And what do you mean is he a building block? hes a 27 yo who averages 22/9 on a team with good shooters and deandre, on this team, he could average 25/15 rbg

Pretty sad when fans can't read between the lines.
Look at the Dallas roster. What on Earth would Orlando actually want? Ah, clearly (if true) Orlando must have tried to grab a pick for Vuc. Dallas is in full rebuild so all upcoming picks are likely to be top 5-10.
It's less about Vuc and more about a lack of interest in parting with draft future picks so easily. Didn't we learn anything from the Nets' Paul Pierce trade?

Agreed. "Not buying" is the key phrase there. Your first sentence isn't necessary.

First off, I don't want Rivers in any trade. I don't like him, and I don't think he'd make this team better. The guy was getting good stats playing with CP3 (who wouldn't?), but has since fallen off. Second, Blake has been injured the past 3 seasons in a row, and has only played 80 games a season 3 out of 7 times. His games the past 3 seasons are 36, 35 and 67 games played. That was the basis for my question about him being a building block. Once his athleticism goes, he won't be that effective. I'd rather have Gordon, Payton, Mario because at least they are healthy players and a lot younger. We aren't winning, and no one is getting past the Cavs or Warriors for the next couple of years, so I'd rather stick to the tank and keep the young players. Is that really out of this world?
Do not max Vuc!
