Chris Hayes just mentioned it used to be a ton of stuff came out at 6:01 but this year the league clamped down on it and it’s taking more time now

It was the same last year IIRC, too many people in previous years were making fun of how teams were able to reach agreements with free agents seconds after they were officially allowed to negotiate with them.

Why are people acting like .... 29 teams have done something and our FO is just sitting on their thumbs 55 minutes in FA. Lol. We were the first team to make a deal in the offseason.... Made a deal for "our guy" in the draft...other than Paolo's contract.... There is probably not a ton to "expect"most of the players we are going to target will be players who could not be picked up because there is only so much cash available. If you think it's the jones brothers etc. they aren't getting scooped up day one. Well... Tre might if they want him to stay in Chicago.

It sounded like many free agents have to go through like 4+ team meetings where they are trying to pitch and recruit them over. So essentially, maybe nothing gets done quickly tonight. DFS was announced with like 90% of the full 14 mil MLE but more importantly at 4 full years in a row, not 2-3 years. Who knows what the Rockets pitched to him and got him in so quick.

EDIT: Sorry, I forgot money and years talk louder. Maybe the FA’s yet to announce are the ones getting multiple 12-14 per/3-4 year per.
